The Korean Society of Thyroid Radiology (KSThR) initially developed recommendations for the optimal use of RFA for thyroid tumors in 2009 and revised them in 2012 and 2017. As new meaningful evidence has accumulated since 2017 and in response to a growing global interest in the use of RFA for treating malignant thyroid lesions, the task force committee members of the KSThR decided to update the guidelines on the use of RFA for the management of RTCs based on a comprehensive analysis of current literature and expert consensus. \nKeywords: Thyroid; Ultrasound; Radiofrequency ablation; Thyroid recurrent cancers; Thyroid intervention \nReceived: September 25, 2024 Revised: October 14, 2024 Accepted: October 16, 2024 \n*These authors contributed","cbCainH46q5u8svu","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCainH46q5u8svu","pdf",300263,"English","# Introduction\n# Methodology\n# Guidelines for RFA of Recurrent Thyroid Cancers","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the 2025 KSThR guideline on RFA for recurrent thyroid cancers?\",\"answer\":\"To review scientific evidence and provide a consensus-based expert opinion on RFA use for recurrent thyroid cancers in clinical practice.\"},{\"question\":\"Why does the guideline need updating in 2025?\",\"answer\":\"Because meaningful evidence has accumulated since 2017 and global interest in RFA for malignant thyroid lesions has increased.\"},{\"question\":\"What role does radiofrequency ablation play compared with surgery for RTCs?\",\"answer\":\"RFA is presented as a minimally invasive treatment modality used as an alternative to surgery in patients with recurrent thyroid cancers.\"}]","Radiofrequency Ablation for Recurrent Thyroid Cancers - 2025 Korean Society of Thyroid Radiology Guideline | PDF",1790195812,48]
