Who you wake up within the morning is a surprisingly personal thing. I tend to switch on Radio 5 Live first thing, occasionally it’sthe Today programme on Radio 4. On holiday, somehow, it invariably becomes Radio 2.  \nSara understands that intimacy. One of the things that comes across in her interview on page 10 is her appreciation of the relationship between a presenter and their audience. As she puts it,“The real stars are still going tobe the listeners.”It’s a characteristically generous outlook from someone about to step into such a high-profile job. Despite the Hollywood guests, she remains focused on the everyday conversations that make radio such a distinctive companion.  \nFor some people, though, the day only properly begins when breakfast television appears on screen, which is why we’ve also taken a look behind the scenes at ITV’s This Morning. It’sa reminder of just how much effort goes into creating the programmes that become part ofour daily routines, often before most ofus have dragged a brush through our hair.  \nSo, however you start your day, I would humbly suggest it should begin with a look through Radio Times.
