The book covers all of fundamental classical electrodynamics, and encompasses a wide range of applications.  \nThe theory is developed starting from the concept of a photon using methods of field theory. In particular, the so-called derived celebrated vacuum-to-vacuum transition amplitude, well known to field theorists, provides a tool for carrying out computations to study radiation and describes the interactions of the theory. While the propagator, monitoring the photon, describes the entire dynamical process, in a time evolutionary manner, from the time a photon is emitted to the time it is detected in an experiment. As a consequence of the latter, one avoids using plane waves, as is invariably done.
