As well as developing quick recall of division facts, this game also involves strategy in blocking your partner whilst making your path. \nAge range: 4th Grade+ \nNumber of players: 2 or 3 \nLearning: Division Facts to 10x10, strategy You will need \n- Each player will need 15-20 counters of their own color. \n- A multiplication square (optional) \nInstructions \n• Choose a division fact you want to work out on one of the uncovered hexagons on the game board. \n• Work out the answer in your head and then say the calculation and the answer. \n• Your partner will check in their head (or using the multiplication square) . \n• If you are right, you place a counter on the hexagon. Then it is your partner’s turn. If you are wrong, you don’t get to place a counter. \n• The winner is the first person to complete an unbroken path of counters from Southampton on the left side of the board to Plymouth on the right side (paths can go across, down, diagonally) . See below. \nVariations (add this extra rule if you wish) \n• If you get an answer wrong, your partner can remove one of your counters from the board. \nExamples of winning paths. \n8÷1 \n12÷3 \n20÷5 \n10÷2 \n12÷3 \n6÷6 \n12÷2 \n18÷6 16÷4 \n21÷3 8÷1 \n14÷7 20÷5 \n45÷5 15÷3 \n24÷8 14÷2 \n36÷9 \n35÷5 \n45÷9 36÷6 \n30÷6 27÷3 \n70÷7 9÷9 \n63÷9 32÷4 \n48÷8 18÷3 \n50÷5 \n18÷2 \n6÷3 24÷4 \n90÷9 64÷8 \n42÷7 24÷3 \n72÷9 54÷6 \n40÷8 40÷5 \n24÷6 \n8÷2 \n16÷2 \n72÷8 \n48÷6 \n25÷5 \n81÷9 \n30÷5 54÷5 54÷9 49÷7 \n16÷8 60÷10 24÷4 36÷4 \nWho will be first to get to the New World?","cbCaihrJRtbqngJM","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihrJRtbqngJM","pdf",882050,"English","# Race to the New World Game Overview\n## Game Objectives and Learning Goals\n## Required Materials\n## Instructions\n## Game Variations","[{\"question\":\"What is the objective of the Race to the New World game?\",\"answer\":\"The goal is to be the first player to complete an unbroken path of counters from the Southampton side of the board to the Plymouth side.\"},{\"question\":\"How many players are required to play?\",\"answer\":\"The game is designed for 2 or 3 players.\"},{\"question\":\"What mathematical skills does this game develop?\",\"answer\":\"It helps students develop quick recall of division facts up to 10x10 while also practicing strategic planning.\"}]","Race to the New World - Division Facts Game | PDF",1792682751]
