Below are examples from each;  \n1 – functional skills, NVQ or GCSE’s grades 3, 2, 1 or most commonly known as D, E, F, & G  \n2 – functional skills, Intermediate apprenticeships or GCSE’s grades 4 – 9 or most commonly known as A* A, B, & C  \n3-A-Level, advanced apprenticeships, access to Higher Education Diploma, T-Levels  \n4 – Higher National Certificate (NHC) , NVQ, or Higher Apprenticeship  \n5 – Diploma of Higher Education (DipH), Foundation Degree, Higher National Diploma (NHD)  \n6 – Degree with Honours (BA or Bsc), Degree apprenticeship, or NVQ  \n7 – Masters, Postgrad for example PGCE for teaching  \n8 – Doctorate for example PhD  \nAn extensive list for all available qualifications can be found on the Gov website.  \nFurther details  \nWhat are T-Levels?  \nT-Levels are equivalent to 3 A Levels they are a new and emerging ‘technical’ education qualification – which allows students to gain both an academic qualification and work experience. Therefore, giving young people the skills, that industry needs in the future. From 2020, T-Levels will give post-GCSE students a technical alternative to A levels.  \nEmployers should be aware that from 2020 students will be able to study construction, digital and education/childcare therefore your potential candidate pool of young applicants will have these qualifications in 2022. These will appear as a pass, merit or distinction on a young person’s CV.  \nWhat’s more as an employer you may be able to offer students a work placement during their studies , they will be required to undertake at least 45 days on placement during their course – contact Wiltshire College for more information, if you think you are able to host a placement.  \nChanges to GCSE grades  \nThe current GCSE grading system is being replaced by numbers, the table below will help employers to understand the changes from the letters they will recognise.  \nMaths and English has already been transitioned-this happened in 2017, so employers may have already seen these from applicants.
