The primary goal of the task analysis was to identify training device requirements for supporting specific private pilot maneuvers. Before PCATDs can be authorized for use as qualified and approved training devices within a private pilot flight training course, a set of qualification guidelines must be developed for use by the FAA in evaluating such potential training devices.
