Ruglass and Kathleen Kendall-Tackett introduces psychological trauma through a practical, clinical lens. The work presents foundational concepts for understanding what psychological trauma is, followed by guidance on diagnosing posttraumatic stress disorder. Subsequent chapters address trauma’s links to physical health, the influence of gender, race/ethnicity, and culture, and the broader impact of PTSD on family members. It also covers clinician burnout, compassion fatigue, and self-care, including prevention and integrated treatment considerations.","James C.
