Below is a chart showing all of the tests in the SAT Suite. \nPSAT/NMSQT Scores will be released on Tuesday, December 10 to our students in their online College Board student accounts. All juniors have a College Board account. If they do not know their username or password, we may have it saved in the guidance office. Come see us! If that doesn’t work, the student will have to call College Board Customer Service to get their account information: 866-630-9305. \nThe PSAT/NMSQT is the same test as the PSAT 10 the juniors took in April as sophomores. Because it’s the same test as the April PSAT 10, students can easily compare scores and see how they have grown! \nUnderstanding PSAT/NMSQT Scores \nEach time a student receives a score for one of the College Board exams, they receive aton of information with it. Here is a sample paper score report. There will be a lot more information in their online student accounts than on the paper score reports about the individual subscores. We have the test booklets with test questions that the students used on test day. Come to the guidance ofice if you’d like your test booklet back so that you can see what questions you missed, and which ones you answered correctly! \nHere is a breakdown on how scores are calculated for all of the College Board tests: \nOn the score reports and in the student accounts, you will see references to“benchmarks”. College Board sets targets for students to meet for each of the exams. Seethe chart below for each of the grade level benchmarks. \nFor the PSAT/NMSQT, the “target”, or benchmark, is 460 for Evidence-Based Reading & Writing (EBRW) and 510 for Math. This benchmark lets a student know if he or she is on track to meet the official College Board benchmarks on the SAT, which are 480 in EBRWand 530 in Math. College Board says that if a student achieves this score benchmark, they are 75% likely to get a C or better in a entry-level college course. The state of Illinois has their own SAT benchmarks--540 for both EBRW & Math. ISBE has determined that this \nbenchmark represents the level of mastery of the Illinois Learning Standards, and earning this score is one of the ways a student can show they are “college & career ready”. \nClick for more information on understanding PSAT/NMSQT scores. \nImproving your score \nThere is free SAT Practice available through Khan Academy. Students also have Khan Academy accounts that should be linked to their College Board accounts. This “link”allows College Board to share PSAT & SAT scores with Khan Academy so that a student’s practice is customized to exactly what they themselves need to work on. \nKhan Academy focuses on building students’ skills in the various areas of the SAT so that those skills can be applied to all types of questions. Practicing skills is shown to be more helpful in improving students’ scores than just taking practice tests. 6-8 hours of practice Khan Academy is shown to help students increase their score by an average of 90 points from the PSAT/NMSQT to the SAT. It’s crunch time--the SAT is on April 14, 2020! \nPracticing for the SAT can also earn you scholarship money! See the section below labeled College Board Opportunity Scholarship Program. \nClick for more information on SAT Practice. \nNational Merit Scholarship Program \nThe PSAT/NMSQT is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program.(NMSQT stands for National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.) A student’s scores from this one-time test ranks them among all other students in the nation who took this test and places them in the running for $350 million in scholarships from many large corporations. The scholarship selection process continues through Fall 2020 and scholarship recipients will be notified in Spring 2021 if they were selected by any of the cor","cbCaihBIJvTu20Yb","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihBIJvTu20Yb","pdf",768603,"English","# PSAT/NMSQT Score Release\n## Understanding PSAT/NMSQT Scores\n## Improving Your Score\n## National Merit Scholarship Program\n## College Board Opportunity Scholarship Program\n## Looking Ahead: Taking the SAT","[{\"question\":\"When will PSAT/NMSQT scores be released, and how will students access them?\",\"answer\":\"Scores will be released on Tuesday, December 10 in students’ online College Board accounts.
