Instead, think about“revision and practice”. It’s really important with maths to practice your skills once you’ve refreshed your memory.  \nStep 1  \nChoose a broad topic, for example “Percentages”. You can decide on this topic in a number of ways:  \n• From the revision checklist  \n• From the full Edexcel syllabus  \n• From Mathswatch  \n• From your revision guide  \nStep 2  \nReview all the facts and skills you need to know about this topic.  \nDo this by reading your own notes and examples from Y10 & 11, any revision guides you own and, if you’re a bit rusty on that topic you may watch the lessons on Mathswatch. Put an R (for “I’ve read through this”) in your book or revision guide.  \nFor example, after revising Percentages at Higher level you should be able to put an R next to all of these:  \no Percentage of an amount with a calculator  \no Percentage of an amount without a calculator  \no Change to a percentage with a calculator  \no Change to a percentage without a calculator  \no Hard calculator questions  \no Overview of percentages  \no Increase/decrease by a percentage  \no Percentage increase/decrease  \no Compound interest/depreciation  \no Reverse percentages  \nStep 3  \nTime to practice the topic…  \nYou can do this in a number of ways:  \n• Attempt the relevant Mathswatch homework or Booster Packs  \n• Download or attempt online questions from the relevant Mathswatch page  \n• Find relevant questions from a Past Paper or [from OnMaths.com](from OnMaths.com)[ ](from OnMaths.com)[Mark your answers](Mark your answers), or bring them into school and go over them with a teacher.  \nHave a look at questions you got wrong: do you understand where you went wrong and what you should have done? If not, print the question out and bring it in to school.  \nNow, either put a P (for “Practiced”) or an H (for “Need Help”) next to that topic in your revision guide.  \nMake sure you follow up anything with an H next to it.
