As the third largest public collection of art in the Territory, it plays a key role in regional development, focusing on the acquisition of work by established and emerging Australian Indigenous, non-Indigenous and Southeast Asian artists inspired by or with a connection to the Northern Territory and adjoining regions, including Southeast Asia. \nMore than a storehouse of treasures, the Charles Darwin University Art Collection is also a living repository: avast and delicate web of connections between people and places in this part of the continent, spanning the life of the Territory’s first tertiary institution of learning and the communities it serves.
