Naturally, it brings more responsibility to us. The guiding light for us in handcrafting the questions is the PYQs. We have prepared this particular question paper based on the trends in the last two years' papers. In the economy, in recent years there has been an increase in the questions from the capital market. Therefore, we have also framed a few questions on pooled investment vehicles and convertible bonds. Recently, there were some major overhauls in the Indian statistical system due to the base year changes. These changes are significant, and hence, they are a potent topic for this year's prelims. In recent years, the government policies have been mainly targeted at infrastructure development, growth of emerging technologies, social welfare and elderly care. Taking this into account, we have framed questions from these topics. Like the UPSC, we have also added some basic questions from macroeconomic theories. \nIn prelims, most of the questions from world affairs are triggered by current affairs. For this year's prelimsthe most important regions are West Asia, South America, Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean region. In recent years, the UPSC has also asked assertion-reason questions from world affairs, mainly exploring certain agreements or events. We have also framed a question in this line. \nFrom modern Indian history, UPSC often asks questions related to organisations, key events, key personalities, time periods, and the evolution of the Constitution. We also followed this trend. \nIn science and technology, recent innovations in biotechnology, energy production and storage systems, space science, emerging technologies and defence technologies often feature in the prelims. We have prepared questions on large language models, high-altitude pseudo-satellites, integrated air defence weapon systems (IADWS), extracellular RNAs (exRNAs) and metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) in this line. In history and culture, in recent years there has been an increasing trend of current affairs-triggered questions. That's why we have added the questions on Shivaji, ancient universities and the Ol Chiki script. Other prominent themes are sources of history, chronology, important personalities and major kingdoms. We have comprehensively covered these themes as well. \nIn geography, popular themes like location awareness, rivers, landforms and climatology are well covered in this test. By analysing the last few years' trends, we think that there will be an increase in questions from geomorphology this year. \nIn recent years biodiversity (especially plant diversity), climate change and pollution were the major themes. Based on this theme, we have added multiples questions. Since the UPSC has a tendency to ask about recent acts/rules, we have included a question on Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026. \nIn recent years there has been a shift in the polity questions. The number of analytical questions was less in the last two years. Also, there has been an increased weightage to the executive and judiciary. This shift is reflected in our question paper also. \nA good mock question paper should be a balanced one. There should be a balance between core topics and current affairs topics. There should be a balance between individual subjects. And there should be a balance between purely factual and analytical questions. We have tried our best to keep all these balances as perfect as possible. \nWe hope this test has provided you with a near-UPSC experience. Best wishes to all of you. Let this year be yours. \nThank you Vaisakhan G S Curator and Editor \n| 1 | B | 21 | A | 41 | B | 61 | B | 81 | B |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| 2 | B | 22 | C | 42 | D | 62 | A | 82 | C |\n| 3 | C | 23 | B | 43 | C | 63 | D | 83 | B |\n| 4 | C | 24 | B","cbCaicWkouj33LLT","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaicWkouj33LLT","pdf",7905395,48,"English","# Editor’s Note\n## Question Design Rationale and Topic Trends\n## World Affairs Focus and Assertion-Reason Style\n## Modern Indian History Themes\n## Science & Technology Themes\n## History and Culture Themes\n## Geography and Current Themes\n## Environment, Biodiversity, and Governance\n## Polity Question Shifts and Balance Approach","[{\"question\":\"What is the basis for crafting the questions in the Open Test?\",\"answer\":\"The questions are guided by PYQs and designed using trends from the last two years’ papers.\"},{\"question\":\"Which regions and question styles are highlighted for world affairs?\",\"answer\":\"The focus is on West Asia, South America, Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean region, including assertion-reason questions related to agreements or events.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the workbook address topic coverage and question balance?\",\"answer\":\"It aims for balance across core topics and current affairs, among individual subjects, and between factual and analytical questions.\"}]","PRELIMS KILLER 7.0 - OPEN TEST - ANSWER KEY WORKBOOK | PDF",1789944418,121]
