ACT is committed to ensuring that each of its testing programs upholds the guidelines in each Code. You may locate copies of these Codes through the following organizations: \n􀁺 Code ofFair Testing Practices in Education: American Psychological Association ([www.apa.org](www.apa.org)) \n􀁺 Code of Professional Responsibilities in Educational Measurement: National Council on Measurement in Education ([www. ncme.org](www. ncme.org)) \nContents \nPractice Test Scores..................................................3 \nRaw Scores.......................................................................3 \nScale Scores.....................................................................3 \nScoring Keys and Conversion Tables ................4 \nEnglish Section............................................................. 4 \nMath Section...................................................................6 \nReading Section............................................................6 \nScience Section ............................................................ 8 \nNext Steps .....................................................................9 \nReviewing Your Test Performance ....................9 \nOverview of the Test \nThe PreACT Secure test, like the ACT® test, consists of four multiple-choice sections—English, math, reading, and science (if required by your school) . The test provides valuable insights into predicted performance on the ACT (which you may take as a junior or senior in high school) . \nPractice Test Scores \nAfter taking the practice tests, you will want to compute your scores to better understand them. Follow the instructions below to calculate your scores on the practice tests. \nRaw Scores \nEach test contains both operational and embedded field test questions. The placement of these field test questions varies across different test forms, and they do not contribute to your total test score. \nThe number of operational questions you answered correctly on each test is your raw score. Because there are many forms of the PreACT Secure, each with different questions, the difficulty level varies between the forms. A raw score of 35 on one form of the English test, for example, may be about as difficult to earn as a raw score of 40 on another form of that test. \nComputing raw scores: To compute your raw scores, check your answers with the scoring information in the Scoring Keys and Conversion Tables section, starting on the next page. Count the number of correct answers to operational questions for each of the four tests. These numbers are your raw scores on the individual tests. The highest raw score for a given test section is the number of operational questions included on that test: \n􀁺 English: 36 \n􀁺 Math: 32 \n􀁺 Reading: 25 \n􀁺 Science (if taken): 30 \nNote: Raw scores are also provided as part of the Summary Report for each test taken online in TestNav. \nScale Scores \nTo adjust for the small differences among different forms of the PreACT Secure test, raw scores are converted into scale scores. Scale scores appear on reports sent to your school. \nWhen your raw scores are converted into scale scores, it becomes possible to compare your scores with those of examinees who took different test forms. For example, a scale score of 26 on the English test has the same meaning for any form of the PreACT Secure. \nScale score ranges on practice tests: \nWhile a live PreACT Secure test generatesa single scale score between 1–35 for each ","cbCaidSmZsHCeg2t","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidSmZsHCeg2t","pdf",229256,"English","# Introduction\n## A Message to Students\n# Code of Fair Testing Practices\n# Overview of the Test\n# Practice Test Scores\n## Raw Scores\n## Scale Scores\n## Scoring Keys and Conversion Tables\n## English Section\n## Math Section\n## Reading Section\n## Science Section\n# Next Steps\n## Reviewing Your Test Performance","[{\"question\":\"What is a raw score on the PreACT Secure practice test, and how is it calculated?\",\"answer\":\"A raw score equals the number of operational questions answered correctly on each test.
