A pregnant woman suffers a violent attack as black steam and blood spill from her body, while a commanding ruler demands that healers save her. The healers, guided by medicinal principles and the timing of potency, respond with grim limits, sharpening the tension between duty, knowledge, and desperation as the prologue’s crisis unfolds.","Ponle Oluwole Àyànm \nÌbr \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nFirst published by IleAyanmo LLC 2026 Copyright © 2026 by Ponle O luwole \nAll rights reserved. If you’re not familiar with the language, I recommend spending a couple of minutes reading the quick introduction to the Yorùbá language that I put together . \nIf you’re like me and prefer to dive into a story headfirst, the information will be here for your reference . Let’s start with the alphabet. \nYorùbá Alphabet \nThere are 25 letters in the Yorùbá alphabet. \nA, B, D, E, Ẹ , F, G, GB, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, Ọ , P, R, S, Ṣ , T, U, W, Y \nSome of the vowels are pronounced diƫerently from their English counterparts: \n A (a )—bag \n E (e )—blade \n Ẹ ( ɛ )—bed \n I (i)—bit \n O (o )—bowl \n Ọ ( ɔ )—body \n U (u )—> book \nThe consonants are fairly standard apart from these two \n GB ()—The digraph GB is pronounced as a single sound by simultaneously closing the back of the throat while closing the lips, then releasing both at once . \n Ṣ (ʃ)—shop \nThe Tonal Nature of Yorùbá \nYorùbá is a tonal language, and the same word can have multiple meanings depending on how it’s pronounced. There are three tones in the language: \n A low tone (do ) (` ) \n A middle tone (re) (no mark) \n And a high tone (mi) ( ´ ) \nThe tones are represented by accents on vowels . We call these accents ami ohùn . For example: \n ọk—husband \n ọk—vehicle \n òkò—spear \n ókò—farm \nThis ends your crash course of the Yorùbá language . Enjoy reading the first book of the Àyànm trilogy, \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nPrologue \nYear 984 of the Empire of Òṣogbo’s Glorious Reign \nA massive castle adorned with ivory and gold stood atop a mountain peak. Its beauty was rivaled only by the splendor of its surroundings . Lush gardens bloomed with vibrant flowers, sprawling halls bore mosaics depicting great heroes, and guards clad in gold armor patrolled the castle grounds . The picturesque scene shattered with a piercing scream . \nIn the highest room of the castle, a pregnant woman lay convulsing on a bed. Her pores emitted black steam, and blood, rather than sweat, dripped from her ","cbCairEMEBZj3ZZ0","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCairEMEBZj3ZZ0","pdf",3016677,2,739,"English","en",105,"# Glossary\n## Yorùbá Alphabet\n## Tonal Nature of Yorùbá\n# Prologue\n# Chapter 1\n# Chapter 2\n# Chapter 3\n# Chapter 4\n# Chapter 5\n# Chapter 6\n# Chapter 7\n# Chapter 8\n# Chapter 9\n# Chapter 10\n# Chapter 11\n# Chapter 12\n# Chapter 13\n# Chapter 14\n# Chapter 15\n# Chapter 16\n# Chapter 17\n# Chapter 18\n# Chapter 19\n# Chapter 20\n# Chapter 21\n# Chapter 22\n# Chapter 23\n# Chapter 24\n# Chapter 25\n# Chapter 26\n# Chapter 27\n# Chapter 28\n# Chapter 29\n# Chapter 30\n# Chapter 31\n# Chapter 32\n# Chapter 33\n# Chapter 34\n# Chapter 35\n# Chapter 36\n# Chapter 37\n# Chapter 38\n# Chapter 39\n# Chapter 40\n# Chapter 41\n# Chapter 42\n# Chapter 43\n# Chapter 44\n# Chapter 45\n# Chapter 46\n# Chapter 47","[{\"question\":\"What does the prologue introduce at the start of the story?\",\"answer\":\"The prologue opens in Year 984 of the Empire of Òṣogbo’s glorious reign, depicting a palace scene where a pregnant woman is attacked and healers are confronted by an enraged ruler.\"},{\"question\":\"Why do the healers say they are unable to save the pregnant woman?\",\"answer\":\"They explain that her attack occurred at midnight, when medicinal properties are at their weakest.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the glossary section included before the prologue?\",\"answer\":\"The glossary offers a quick introduction to the Yorùbá language, including the alphabet and tone system, to help readers understand names, places, and concepts used in the novel.\"}]","Ponle Oluwole Àyànm -
