If, however, you need to create one from scratch, you will need to spend time outside of this course to do so. Here are some helpful resources to help you build a résumé/CV from scratch. Be sure to also read through the instructions below and include the “five things every résumé or CV should have” in your résumé/CV. \n􀁸 Writing a Résumé or Curriculum Vitae – [ldsjobs.org](ldsjobs.org) article \n􀁸 Résumé Sample & Tips By Field – BYU-I Career Services \n􀁸 CV Examples for Europe (links for specific examples for European countries, though with broad applicability internationally)– europass \nFive Things Every Résumé or CV Should Have \nIn order to “stand out,” to an employer, your résumé or curriculum vitae should have the following five things. Follow these instructions and quick tips to polish your résumé/CV for a specific job opportunity. Pay particular attention to number 3-Matched Skill Statements. Templates and descriptions for common types of résumés and CVs are provided at the end of this document. \n1. Letterhead with contact information \nCreate a heading that looks appealing and contains all important contact information and links to your digital profile or ePortfolio. \nQuick Tips for the Letterhead: \n● Your name and contact information should be easy to read and find. \n● Include your email address, phone number and a link to your digital profile or ePortfolio. \no Your email address and voicemail greeting should be professional. \no Keep your email inbox and voicemail clear so that a potential employer does not reach a mailbox that is full. \n● Use the same letterhead for all your supporting documents (cover letter, references, etc. ) . \n2. Simple and Appealing Design \nRésumés should be clean and easy to read but not boring! We live in an age where people respond to good design. \nQuick Tips for Design: \n● Use a font that is professional and easy to read. \n● You may use graphs, formatting or visuals to draw attention to a specific accomplishment. \n● Be professional in your résumé colors. Like a job interview suit you will want to be conservative with color and design use. \n● The industry you are applying for will impact how much design or color you may use. A graphic designer résumé would want more design elements than a lawyer. \n● If you use graphics save them as a jpg or pdf. Graphics can clog how software converts your résumé . \n3. Matched Skill Statements \nYour résumé/CV should include skills matched to the job you are applying for. Your skills, experience and education should be communicated using power skill statements or “power Statements”(what, what for, what results) . Follow the instructions in the Skills & Power Statements to build powerful skill statements. \nFollow these instructions to match your skill statements to a particular job you are applying for. \n1. Open the job listing or description that lists the job expectations. \n2. Read thru job listing and highlight all the skills and expectations you can find that the employer is asking for. Pay particular attention to the sections that state ‘minimum requirements’,‘preferred requirements’,‘successful candidates will…’, etc. \n3. Make a list of all the skills and expectations you gleaned from the job listing. It is best to use a spreadsheet so you can sort and filter. You can build a table in the spreadsheet like the one in the Week 03 Report template. \n4. Match your skill statements to the job expectations/skills on your list. \na. Try to find at least one of your skill statements for each job expectation. \n􀁸 If you","cbCaiesJ7Kp1lbdf","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiesJ7Kp1lbdf","pdf",1042226,"English","# Vocabulary\n## Curriculum Vitae (CV) and Résumé\n## Vmock\n# Five Things Every Résumé or CV Should Have\n## 1.
