This LWP applies to all students and staff at Pinnacles Prep Charter School. The overarching theme of social and emotional wellbeing will be baked into all components of this policy. This LWP strives to enhance the wellness of students at our school while recognizing school may be the safest, most consistent, and loving environment for some students. As such, professional discretion may be used in regards to this LWP to accommodate the unique needs of the students we serve. Specific, measurable goals and outcomes are identified within each section below.  \nLocal Wellness Committee  \nCommittee Role and Membership  \nPinnacles Prep Charter School will establish a Local Wellness Committee that meets at least two times per year to develop goals for and oversee implementation of school health and safety  \npolicies/programs, including periodic reviews and updates of this LWP. The Local Wellness Committee will represent all school levels and include (to the extent possible), but not be limited to: parents and caregivers; students; representatives of the school nutrition program; physical education teachers; health education teachers; school health professionals; school administrators; school board members; health professionals (e.g., dietitians, doctors, nurses, dentists); and the general public. When possible, membership will also include Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education coordinators (SNAPEd) .  \nLeadership  \nEach school will designate a school wellness policy coordinator, who will ensure compliance with the policy.
