It consists of 12 modules and 200 units of English, and provides approximately 120 hours of study for students. \nCourse aims \n• To take students from Pre-Intermediate, CEFR A2 up to B1; \n• To give students information about, coaching in and practice in all areas of the PET exam, to enable them to be fully prepared when it comes to them taking the test; \n• The course blends grammatical structures necessary for this level, with vocabulary, including verb + preposition combinations, spelling, reading, listening, writing and speaking. \nGrammar \nBy the end of the course, students will be able to: \n• use present simple and present continuous verbs forms, as well as simple past with regular and irregular verbs in the affirmative, negative and interrogative forms; \n• talk about future prediction and intention using will and going to, and present continuous with future reference; \n• use the present perfect simple to talk about past experience and actions which began in the past and continuing in the present, along with adverbs and time references often used with the present perfect; \n• identify things using there is/there are, have got, possessive adjectives and pronouns, articles and the possessive genitive; \n• talk about adjectives, including using comparative and superlative forms; \n• create yes/no and information questions; \n• agree with someone in the affirmative and negative; \n• use the modal verbs can, could, must, should, may and might; \n• use adverbs of manner to describe how an action is performed; \n• identify verbs that are followed by gerunds, bare infinitives and full infinitives; \n• use simple connecting words; \n• use basic passive verb forms; \n• compare adjectives and adverbs using comparatives and superlatives; \n• talk about quantity, along with countable and uncountable nouns; \n• use conditional sentences to talk about possible future and impossible alternative present situations. \nVocabulary \nBy the end of the course students will have learnt approximately 1000 lexical items, including common nouns, verbs and adjectives, and simple lexical sets. \nWriting \nWe mark student compositions and spoken recordings by hand, not by computer. This means students get much more accurate feedback on their spoken and written English. \nThey simply write their compositions and press Send,or record their spoken tasks directly onto their phone or computer and press Send. We will receive them and have them marked and sent back to them with corrections within 72 hours. \nSimple! \nSkills \nBy the end of the course students will have had exposure to and practice in reading and hearing formal and informal English from a variety of registers contexts, descriptions, stories and opinions. \nRevision \nEach of the 12 modules has a revision test, which gives students another chance to test themselves on the grammar and vocabulary they have learnt during the module. \nThese tests are cumulative, which means the material learnt in each unit is tested at the end of that unit and also in subsequent revision tests, meaning the tests get longer as more material is tested each time. \nExam practice \nEach module concentrates on a different area of the PET exam, giving information about the exam, tips on how to answer the questions and advice about where students often make mistakes. It then tests them on that part of the exam. \nEntry and exit tests \nBefore beginning the course, the student is invited to take an Entry test, which consists of a complete Reading and Writing and Listening paper from the exam. \nAt the end of the course, the student is invited to take another complete Reading and Writing and Listening paper and the student’s result is analysed by the program, giving a percentage of improvement and predicts a grade in the actual exam they take. \nCourse summary \n\n| Module | Unit","cbCaikuvizCRfppf","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaikuvizCRfppf","pdf",45429,"English","# Course aims\n# Grammar\n# Vocabulary\n# Writing\n# Skills\n# Revision\n# Exam practice\n# Entry and exit tests\n# Course summary","[{\"question\":\"What level does the PET course target, and what progress is expected?\",\"answer\":\"The course moves learners from Pre-Intermediate (CEFR A2) to B1, building the knowledge and skills needed to be fully prepared for the PET exam.\"},{\"question\":\"How are writing and speaking tasks assessed?\",\"answer\":\"Student compositions and spoken recordings are marked by hand, not by computer, and feedback with corrections is returned within 72 hours.\"},{\"question\":\"How do entry and exit tests work?\",\"answer\":\"Before starting, students take an Entry test with Reading, Writing, and Listening papers.
