I loved not only to build sets but also to createmy models from those. I would turn houses into spaceships and cars into animals. My parents would oftenask why I built a set, then just break it the next day to build something completely new. I could never answertheir question, but I was always curious to make more. \nI grew up watching the Lego Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu TV show and collecting all the diversetypes of Lego sets since 2011. In 2014 The first Lego Movie came out, a film which many wondered if it wasstop-motion or computer animated. \nWhen the movie came out, I went towatch it with my mom after school oneday. I remember the end scene in whichEmmet (Hero) was showing PresidentBusiness (Villain) other creativecreations, those being other stop-motion \nfilms and I was confused about whatthose were. He says “Look at all thesethings that other people built”: \nI sat there looking and thought, what are those? They look like normal LEGO? I then investigatedthese more and found out that they were motion animations made by fans and wondered how to make them. Imean how is the Lego moving? That is not possible without a person moving it. I want to learn how to dothat. Then on my 12th birthday, my parents got me the Lego Movie 2 LEGO Movie Maker set. I tried outmany diverse types of animation and storytelling and with this, I decided to pursue filmmaking as my hobbyas I was extremely interested in animation; the set building, creation of story, animation, editing, and thenpublishing on my YouTube channel. I started to learn many different skills along with this. I began editingwith Microsoft Video Editor and using the Stop-Motion studio app to process all my images. As time wenton, I kept animating during my free time, along with joining competitions, such as the BRAWL and THACevents, which allowed me to become a member of their stop-motion community. As I developed moreinterest I began to invest in more hardware and software, I began to invest in more sets, and figures and inmore professional editing software that gave me more editing freedom (Filmora Wondershare) . I began tonot only use my skills as my hobby but when given the chance use them in school projects such as makingstop motions and video editing, such as seen with the screenshots from my YouTube channel. \nFigure 1: (\"The LEGO\" [00:01:05]) \nFigure 2: My Stop Motion School Projects \nWhen I learned that we had to make a project that was linked to us personally and could be anythingwe wanted, I knew that I wanted it to be linked to something creative. During the first day of MYP4, ourclass did an activity in which everyone had to give everyone their most unique trait. Many students statedthat I am the most creative person they know as I tend to approach problems in unique ways, and I like to do \nPersonal Project | Discovering the Principles of Animation \nthings visually with drawings. I found doing stop-motion animation an exciting task to take on. I knew thatall basic animation began from the 12 Principles of Animation, however, I never truly learned how to usethem and thought this was the perfect opportunity to improve and learn more organization skills, medialiteracy skills, and creative thinking skills. Making this project shall help me improve my organization skillsas I need to follow a structured plan to make sure I target a principle per video and for the final videoorganize all my scenes, e.g. if there are shots made in the same setting during various times of the video howshall I produce it. I will gather SFX and VFX for my videos, apply media literacy skills, keep an open mindwhile making each principle, and try incorporating themes that fit the chosen principle. \n# Product Goal\n\n'The Illusion of Life,' a Disney book, explains 12 rules that must be carried out for an animation toappear realistic ","cbCaioy30IUsHeF1","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaioy30IUsHeF1","pdf",41911993,15,"English","# Criterion A: Planning\n## Learning Goal\n## Product Goal\n## Success Criteria","[{\"question\":\"Why is the student interested in animation and stop-motion?\",\"answer\":\"The student grew up building LEGO models and later became curious after seeing fan-made stop-motion works in the LEGO Movie ending scene.
