While they were together, worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said to them,“Appoint Barnabas and Saul for special work I have chosen for them.” \nSo after they all fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on Saul and Barnabas and sent them out. By that time Saul was also known as Paul. \nThey sailed to the island of Cyprus where they preached God’s Word in the Jewish synagogues. John Mark was with them as their helper. Then they traveled across the island to Paphos. \nAt Paphos, the governor, Sergius Paulus, wanted to hear God’s Word, so he sent for Barnabas and Saul. But Elymas the sorcerer opposed them, trying to prevent the governor from believing in Jesus. \nSaul looked intently at Elymas and said,“You are serving the devil. You oppose everything that is good. You twist God’s truth into lies. So, for a time the Lord will cause you to become completely blind.” \nImmediately, Elymas became blind! He went around, asking for someone to lead him by the hand. When the governor saw what happened to Elymas, he believed and was amazed by the teaching about the Lord Jesus.","cbCaijmZygGVj0RO","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijmZygGVj0RO","pdf",5547139,2,1,31,"English","en",105,"# Antioch: Appointment by the Holy Spirit\n## Sending Barnabas and Saul\n# Cyprus and Paphos: Preaching and Opposition\n## The governor’s response","[{\"question\":\"How were Barnabas and Saul appointed for their mission?\",\"answer\":\"During worship in Antioch with fasting, the Holy Spirit instructed them to appoint Barnabas and Saul for a special work.
