Used with permission by Grim & Perilous Studios. \nPages from the Lesser Key of Solomon is a series on demons meant to be used with the Contact the First Fallen spell in the Flames of Freedom Corebook. It presentsa folio of a demon from the Lesser Key of Solomon. Provides a brief overview, the additional reagents needed to call upon them; how they manifest; what gifts they may grant; and what they want in return. Finally, two story hooks are provided for their use. \nIntroduction \nAstaroth is the 29th demon listed in the Lesser Key of Solomon; a Duke of Hell ;and is listed as a prince of the demonic order of accusers and inquisitors and are said to command legions of lesser spirits and are reported to oversee all the spirits in the \nAmericas. Astaroth’s purview includes the liberal arts, some secret knowledge, transformations, and destructive winds. In addition to being listed in The Lesser Key of Solomon, Francis Barrett’s The Magus is also a source of information on this demon. \nCalled By \nAstaroth; Ashtaroth; Ashtoreth; \nAstareth; Astarot; Grand Duke of Hell; The Grand Treasurer. \nCalling Forth \nAstaroth may be summoned using the Contact The First Fallen spell (FoF p.286) with some additions to the ritual. Along with the reagents listed, their seal is etched on a wax tablet or wood and must be present for the ritual. If Astaroth’s seal is etched into a disc of \nprecious metal such as gold or silver, the summoner may gain an Assist Die on their Incantation test. The creation of the Astaroth’s seal requires the acquisition of the precious metal and a Craft Skill Test, or finding ametalworker willing to create such a blasphemous item. \nManifestations \nUpon Being Summoned \nA horrible, fetid smell alerts the summoner of the approach of this Duke of Hell as the ritual nears completion. This is the breath of Astaroth. It is awful enough for those present to make a Toughness test to keep from retching and gagging. On a Critical Failure, the character stumbles about, retching, with tears in their eyes. Their flailing may disrupt the magic circle if not stopped by others. The magus and those present may protect themselves by holding a magickal ring of silver to their lips. \nThe immensity of this being does not allow it to fully manifest within \nthe magic circle. Those present for the summoning will see licks \nof flame and shifting shadows of a winged being and the maw of a beast appear within and hear the roars of a mighty beast. Astaroth speaks with a deep, rumbling voice. The \nuninitiated (those without the Incantation skill) who are \npresent for such a summoning must make a Resolve Test to Withstand Horror (Fear: Hard-20%, 2d10+2 Periland 6 Conflict). \nUpon Being Freed \nIf there is a Critical Failure on the Incantation test or someone breaks the magic circle then Astaroth manifests in their full, terrible majesty. They appear in the form of a twisted mockery of an angel, naked, upon the back of a dragon or giant wolf. In one hand, they grip a snake whose fangs drip with venom. The droplets burn where they land. \nThose witnessing this Infernal Prince in all their glory must make a Resolve Test to Withstand Horror (Terror: Arduous- 30%, 3d10+3 Peril and 9 Conflict).","cbCaighJ7WeoHwaO","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaighJ7WeoHwaO","pdf",1097343,"English","# Introduction\n## Called By\n## Calling Forth\n## Manifestations\n## Upon Being Summoned\n## Upon Being Freed","[{\"question\":\"What is Astaroth’s origin and rank in the Lesser Key of Solomon?\",\"answer\":\"Astaroth is listed as the 29th demon, identified as a Duke of Hell and an Infernal Prince connected to accusers and inquisitors.\"},{\"question\":\"How can Astaroth be summoned in Flames of Freedom?\",\"answer\":\"Astaroth may be summoned using the Contact The First Fallen spell, with additions to the ritual, including required reagents and the etched seal.\"},{\"question\":\"What happens if the ritual fails critically or the magic circle is broken?\",\"answer\":\"A critical failure on the Incantation test, or breaking the magic circle, allows Astaroth to manifest fully in terrible majesty, forcing witnesses to make Resolve tests to withstand horror.\"}]","Pages of the Lesser Key of Solomon - Astaroth - A Demonic Folio for Flames of Freedom | PDF"]
