The book uses multiple learning pathways and emphasizes clear practice with teachers and independently, moving from listening-based activities to writing-focused application of phonics knowledge. Each letter sound is introduced with example words, repeated listening and speaking tasks, and structured classroom-friendly practice routines. The books are student-friendly, contextual and prepare learners for all the skills which are essential to make them ready for school. All the books are based on the internationally recommended pedagogy of MULTIPLE LEARNING PATHWAYS. \nPhonics is a method for teaching the reading and writing of the English language by developing the learners’ phonemic awareness — the ability to hear, identify and manipulate letter sounds — in order to teach the correspondence between these sounds and the spelling patterns that represent them. Learning phonics helps learners understand the relationship between letters and their sounds. Research shows that learners who are taught by the phonics method display marked improvement with respect to measure of phonemic awareness, spelling and reading as compared to learners who are taught by the traditional methods. \nThis book introduces learners to letter names and their corresponding sounds. For example, the letter ‘a’ represents the /a/ heard at the beginning of the word ‘ant’, the letter ‘b’ represents the /b/ heard at the beginning of the word ‘ball’ and so on. \nThe book is designed to give learners ample opportunities to practise the letter sounds with the teachers as well as on their own. This is the first of the three books on phonics. The progression across the books is from the easier activities, which are based on listening to the more rigorous activities, which involve the application of knowledge of phonics as well as practice of writing. \nContents \n1) Letter Sounds: A to E ........................................................... 4 \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘A’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘B’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘C’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘D’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘E’ 􀃂 Draw and Say \n􀃂 Colour and Say \n2) Letter Sounds: F to J .......................................................... 11 \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘F’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘G’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘H’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘I’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound‘J’ 􀃂 Draw and Say \n􀃂 Colour and Say \n3) Letter Sounds: K to O .......................................................... 18 \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘K’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘L’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘M’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘N’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘O’ 􀃂 Draw and Say \n􀃂 Colour and Say \n4) Letter Sounds: P to T .......................................................... 25 \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘P’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘Q’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘R’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘S’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘T’ 􀃂 Draw and Say \n􀃂 Colour and Say \n5) Letter Sounds: U to Z .......................................................... 32 \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘U’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘V’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘W’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘X’ \n􀃂 Letter Sound ‘Y’ 􀃂 Letter Sound ‘Z’ \n􀃂 Draw and Say 􀃂 Colour and Say \n6) Let Us Practise .......................................................................40 \n1) Letter Sounds: A to E \nLetter Sound ‘A’ \nSay /a/ as in ‘ant’ \nListen and Repeat \nSing the rhyme along with your teacher to know what sound the letter A makes. \nAnts on my arms /a/ - /a/ ants \nAnts on my arms /a/ - /a/ ants \nListen to your teacher say the following words which begin with /a/ and repeat. \n/a/-/a/ ANT \n/a/-/a/ ARROW \n/a/-/a/ APPLE \n/a/-/a/ AXE \nLetter Sound ‘B’ \nSing the rhyme along with your teacher to know what sound the letter B makes. \nSay /b/ as in ‘bell’ \nBring your bat and bring your ball /b/-/b/ ball \nBring your bat and bring your ball /b/-/b/ ball \nBb \n Listen and Repeat Listen to your teacher say the following \nwords which begin with /b/ and repeat. \n/b/-/b/ BELL \n/b/-/b/ BAG \n/b/-/b/ BALL \n/b/-/b/ BAT \nCat with a cap /c/-/c/ cat \nCat with a cap /c/-/c/ cat \nLetter Sound ‘C’ \nSay /c/ as in ‘cap’ \nSing the rhyme along with your teacher to know what sound the letter C makes. \nCc \n Listen and Repeat Listen to your teacher say the following \nwords which begin with /c/ and repeat. \n/c/-/c/ CA","cbCaijau4dPbB3hf","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijau4dPbB3hf","pdf",35698374,"English","# Preface\n## Letter Sounds: A to E\n## Letter Sounds: F to J\n## Letter Sounds: K to O\n## Letter Sounds: P to T\n## Letter Sounds: U to Z\n## Let Us Practise","[{\"question\":\"What teaching method does the book use for phonics?\",\"answer\":\"The book teaches phonics by developing learners’ phonemic awareness, helping them hear, identify, and manipulate letter sounds and connect them to spelling patterns.\"},{\"question\":\"How is this book structured for learner progression?\",\"answer\":\"It progresses from easier listening activities to more rigorous tasks that apply phonics knowledge and include practice of writing.\"},{\"question\":\"Which topics are covered in the first book?\",\"answer\":\"The contents start with letter sounds A to E, and continue through F to J, K to O, P to T, and U to Z, followed by practice sections.\"}]","Oyster Nursery Phonics Book - Letter Sounds A to E - Practice | PDF",101]
