A lot of people ask me why I volunteer for Otakon, and the answer that I give them, only partially in jest, is that I love to spend a year planning a 3 day party for 30,000 of my closest friends, and what a party we have in store for you all this year! \nWe’ve got the DragonBall Z tour, orchestral music from Distant Worlds and A New World, tons of guests from the USA, Japan and Korea and our own home grown events that you’ve all come to know and love. It’s going to be a fun ride and I’m glad you’re all coming along for it. \nWe’re thrilled to be returning to Washington DC this year and look forward to continuing to work with the great people at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Events DC, and our partners at the Marriott Marquis and Renaissance, to name just a few. We’re also excited to be building relationships with the Embassy of Japan and the Library of Congress. \nOur theme this year is mecha, a subject very near and dear to my heart. So, if you’ve ever dreamed of accidentally discovering your latent ability to drive a giant robot, or wondered what it must be like to throw that funny lever marked “G” and have your fighter plane suddenly sprout legs. If words like Layzner, Dragonar, Mazinger, Patlabor and VOTOMS mean anything to you, then get in the robot Shinji, believe in the me that believes in you, and join the fight! \nFinally, regardless of all the shenanigans that happen in our nation’s capital, here at Otakon, we’re united. Whether it’s in our love of anime, gaming, cosplay, music, or just being all around nerds, we’re a family, and this is our once a year reunion. So, whether you’re coming fr","cbCaiiGVMiTi9BI6","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiiGVMiTi9BI6","pdf",45237807,44,"English","# Welcome Letters\n## Otakon Rules\n### BEHAVIOR POLICY (“THAT RULE”)\n### LINE ETIQUETTE\n# Table of Contents\n## Otakon Rules\n## Events & Attractions\n## Hall Costume Contest\n## LA RP\n## Video Gaming\n## The Dance\n## Guests\n## Concerts\n## Cosplay Rescue\n## Featured Presenters\n## Cosplay Gallery\n## Maps of the Con\n## Staff List\n## Volunteering\n## Autographs","[{\"question\":\"What is the main purpose of the Otakon Rules section?\",\"answer\":\"The rules ensure Otakon is a safe, family-friendly environment and define what conduct is not tolerated.
