You will then be ready to coordinate the installation and schedule with your Ortal dealer, the mechanical contractor, electrical contractor, drywall, AV home automation and other trades that will be involved. \nWe recommend that an Ortal dealer install the fireplace whenever practical. Installation must comply with the current edition of the Ortal Installation Manual and shop drawings provided by Ortal. It is up to you, however, to build the cavity that will enclose the fireplace. \nThere are several methods for building the cavity: \n1. Metal Framing – See page 14: Metal framing is also known as light-gage or cold-formed steel studs. \n2. Wood Framing – See page 24: The interior of the cavity must be covered with gypsum board to protect combustible materials. \n3. Non-Combustible: Cavities constructed of brick, concrete masonry units, or plaster on metal framing and lath should be based upon metal framing requirements. \nThe heat produced by an Ortal fireplace requires particular attention to materials and details to assure a safe installation. Because the fireplace is the room’s focal point, your customer will expect a high level of craftsmanship. However, by putting your best craftsmen on the job and following these instructions, we are confident you will feel the same pride we do in every Ortal fireplace. \nWe look forward to working with you. ® YOUR LIFE. Must have a manual shut off in the same room as the fireplace (within 4’ of fireplace) . \n[ ACCESS PANEL FOR CONTROL VALVE: See page 5. \n[ HEAT RELEASE – AIR RETURN TO ROOM: Size of heat release verified and located. Note: The bottom of the glass will be from 8 3/8” to 10”above the platform depending on the unit. \n[ POWER LOCATION: Provide a single gang 120v outlet in the same area as valve behind access panel. The unit requires a 3v transformer supplied with fireplace to run without batteries. \n[ TYPE X SHEETROCK IN CAVITY AREA: All combustible framing in chas","cbCaikWKXM4rhwHZ","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaikWKXM4rhwHZ","pdf",4695988,29,"English","# Introduction\n## Checklist\n# Model Firebox Clearances\n# General Guidelines\n# Heat Release and Air Intake\n## Reveal\n## Louver\n## Sprinkler Clearances at Heat Release\n# Metal Framing\n## Shelf Details\n## TV Detail\n### Flush\n### Recess\n# Wood Framing\n## TV Detail\n### Flush\n### Recess\n# Finishing Details\n## Quartz\n## Wood paneling\n## Brick Veneer\n## Mantel Clearances\n## Stone Finish & Hearth\n## Wood Hearth Extensions\n## Inside Corner Clearances\n## Clearance to ceiling\n# Vent Pipe Clearances\n# Venting Diagrams\n# Sconce Cap Detail","[{\"question\":\"What should you do before coordinating an Ortal fireplace installation?\",\"answer\":\"Read the Builder’s Manual and Ortal shop drawings, review the architect/designer drawings and specifications, and inspect the installation location.
