The module highlights health and safety awareness to the learners and their co-workers in the area which they work. \nModule Objectives \nThe apprentice will learn about the health and safety regulations, processes and procedures applicable to OEM operations including human factors applicable to both employer and employee responsibilities. \nMinimum intended module learning outcomes \n1. Evaluate safe working practices and procedures in the OEM working environment. \n2. Define the categories of human factors which impact on health and safety and assess their impact on human performance. \n3. Appraise the relationship between different roles and responsibilities in the OEM workplace. \n4. Analyse Health and Safety Legislation and identify the key legal responsibilities in relation to employers and employees in an OEM environment. \n5. Demonstrate an ability to contribute to, and improve on, Health and Safety procedures in an OEM environment. \n6/7 WORKPLACE MENTOR HANDBOOK APPENDICES \nModule synopsis \nModule duration is 115 hours. 10 FET credits at Level 6 assigned to it. \nThis module contains off-the-job and on-the-job elements. The module aims to encourage the apprentice to develop the specialised knowledge and skill required for operating in the OEM environment both safely and effectively. It includes dealing with statutory and organisational health and safety requirements. It covers responsibilities relating to accident reporting and identification of hazards and risks. \nThe on-the-job element focuses on the application of learning and requires the apprentice to produce a portfolio of the learning in the workplace. The module also includes reflective practice and is conducted throughout the module. This gives the opportunity for the apprentices to reflect on their work and study experiences over the module. \nMajor topics included in the indicative content \n> Related Irish Legislation and how it impacts on the OEM industry. \n> Health and safety procedures. \n> Causes of accidents. \n> Human Factors as they apply to the OEM industry. \n> Fire prevention: risk assessments, methods of controlling fires. \n> Planning and executing tasks. \n> Manual Handling: Operations and Regulations as they apply to engineering industries.> Permit to work: purpose, description, content, types (including: ‘hot working’, electrical,> maintenance operations, pressure testing, etc.), procedure for use. \n> Working in isolation: in confined spaces, above ground or in trenches, in close proximity to unguarded machinery, when a fire risk exists, with toxic or corrosive substances. \n> Methods of managing and avoiding errors: Self-discipline; safety management system; anonymous and blamefree reporting; review of error logs; formal briefing. \nMODULE 2 ENGINEERING DRAWINGS \nModule Aims \nThe aim of the Engineering Drawings module is to develop the ability to communicate information by graphical means and acquire the ability to use drawing software packages. \nModule Objectives \nThe apprentice will experience the use of freehand sketching of commonly used details, to extend knowledge and appreciation of the constructional and operational features of OEM machinery, develop the ability to visualise and understand spatial relationships and attain the competence to select and use appropriate g","cbCaiiGxsDQLeYMK","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiiGxsDQLeYMK","pdf",975673,32,"English","# Appendix A Work Task Assessment\n# Appendix B Module Descriptor and Indictive Content\n# Module 1 Health and Safety\n## Module Aims\n## Module Objectives\n## Minimum Intended Module Learning Outcomes\n## Module Synopsis\n## Major Topics in Indicative Content\n# Module 2 Engineering Drawings\n## Module Aims\n## Module Objectives\n## Minimum Intended Module Learning Outcomes\n## Module Synopsis\n## Major Topics in Indicative Content","[{\"question\":\"What does Module 1 (Health and Safety) aim to achieve in the OEM environment?\",\"answer\":\"Module 1 aims to equip learners with skills, knowledge, and competencies to perform duties safely in an OEM workplace while building health and safety awareness for both learners and coworkers.\"},{\"question\":\"Which health and safety topics are included in the indicative content for Module 1?\",\"answer\":\"Indicative topics include Irish legislation and its impact, health and safety procedures, causes of accidents, human factors, fire prevention with risk assessments, permit to work procedures, and working in isolation scenarios such as confined spaces and trenches.\"},{\"question\":\"What skills are developed in Module 2 (Engineering Drawings) for OEM work?\",\"answer\":\"Module 2 develops the ability to communicate information graphically, including freehand sketching, orthographic and isometric projection, engineering drawing standards, reading and interpreting engineering drawings and circuits to OEM standards, and fundamentals of computer-aided design.\"}]","ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURING (OEM) APPRENTICESHIP - WORKPLACE MENTOR HANDBOOK - APPENDICES | PDF",81,{"code":4,"msg":82,"data":99},[100,104,108,112,116,119,124,129,134,137,141],{"id":22,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":101,"show_sort_weight":102,"slug":103},"Story & Novel",90,"story-novel",{"id":26,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":105,"show_sort_weight":106,"slug":107},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":33,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":109,"show_sort_weight":110,"slug":111},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":55,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":113,"show_sort_weight":114,"slug":115},"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":86,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":29,"show_sort_weight":117,"slug":118},50,"technology",{"id":120,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":121,"show_sort_weight":122,"slug":123},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":125,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":126,"show_sort_weight":127,"slug":128},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":130,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":131,"show_sort_weight":132,"slug":133},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":132,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":135,"show_sort_weight":132,"slug":136},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":138,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":139,"show_sort_weight":138,"slug":140},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":142,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":143,"show_sort_weight":55,"slug":144},19,"General","general"]
