It means you have decided to give organs, eyes, and tissues after your death to a person awaiting a lifesaving or healing transplant. \n• Each registration services as a symbol of hope for the tens of thousands of people waiting nationally. \n• The decision to donate is a personal one, but one which should be shared with your family. When you say “Yes,” a red heart will be placed in the lower right-hand corner of your driver’s license, indicating your decision to help others. \n• Your gift remains effective regardless of the status of your license. If you ever have a change of heart, you may: \n▪ Remove yourself from the registry or edit your document of gift by visiting [www.registerme.org](www.registerme.org. Click on)[. Click on](www.registerme.org. Click on) “Access Your Registration” at the top of the page and enter the requested data. Once you have accessed your registration, you may update your donor registration or remove your registration under the “Manage Your Donor Registration” section. \n▪ Decline saying “Yes” at your next driver license update. Requesting the heart be removed from your license at a licensing facility will also remove you from the registry. \nOrgan and Tissue Donation: What are the Facts? \nFact: Registering to be an organ, eye, and tissue donor will not affect your medical care in an accident or need emergency care. The priority is to save your life. \nFact: Organ, eye, and tissue donation is performed respectfully and does not disfigure the body. Organs, eyes and tissues are removed in an operation performed by specially trained medical professionals. Your body is treated with respect and an open casket funeral is possible after donation. \nFact: Individuals with health conditions and advanced age can still donate. \nFact: There is no financial cost to the donor’s family or estate for organ, eye, or tissue donation. Funeral costs and the costs incurred in saving your life remain the responsibility of the family. \nIf you have questions, call Legacy of Hope at 1-800-252-3677 or visit our website at [www.legacyofhope.org](www.legacyofhope.org). \nAlabama \nDRIVER MANUAL \nPUBLISHED BY \nALABAMA LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY DRIVER LICENSE DIVISION \nP.O.
