We just had to go hiking, and now I might die under who knows how much snow.  \nNearly doubled over, I snaked through the trees toward where I think the cabins were. Despite the thick clothing, I shivered, which shot panic throughout me. I hurried, the halo of the flashlight showing me the way.  \nFinally, an opening. There was indeed a cabin, but it wasn’t ours. The truck outside wasn’t Beth’s either. I’m way off course. Doesn’t matter, as there are lights on in the log house, and that’s good enough for me. I scurried passed the aged truck and around an empty dog house.  \nI clobbered the door in fear this loud wind would muffle me.“Anyone home? Help!”  \nThe door swung open.  \n“Good God, what are you doing out in this?”  \nBefore I could respond, she yanked me inside and slammed the door. Snow coated her wood floor, but quickly melted.
