WWW.THEPOWDERGROUP.COM |\n\nWELCOME  \nPerfection is overrated.  \nIf I’m being honest, it’s truly exhausting.  \nWell, the idea of it is anyway.  \nI can’t actually recall the last time I did something perfectly.  \nI’ve had many wonderful conversations with great leaders about perfection, and how desperately many of us strive for it in art, business, relationships or life.  \nIn every one of those conversations  \nwe came to the agreement that  \nnot only is true perfection unattainable in most situations, but that perfection shouldn’t necessarily even be the goal.  \nThat there is beauty in the imperfect.  \nPersonally, I love imperfection.  \nA lightly tattered t-shirt or sweater that fits just right.  \nA home that feels lived in.  \nA desktop that only you can find your way around.  \nA makeup application that leaves something a little raw.  \nI admire and accept the authenticity of imperfection.  \nIt feels honest and true and real.  \nThere is nothing I find less interesting than an oddly filtered selfie, an overly retouched beauty image or a guarded conversation.  \nThe idea of being unapologetically unfiltered feels fresh and alive.  \nNow, I’m not saying perfection shouldn’t be a goal sometimes.  \nAnd certainly there are many things in life that need to be perfect.  \nWhat I’m saying is to give yourself permission  \nto be a little easier on you and your quest for perfection.  \nSure, hold yourself to a high standard, but not an unattainable one. Love your imperfectness.
