This is what the machine looks like:\u003Cbr>Mums Advice\u003Cbr>This machine is becoming increasingly popular and parents are reporting to midwives that they are using this machine. The machine delivers a small volume (“shot”) of very hot water to “kill the bacteria in the formula powder” and then adds cool water to make up the rest of the feed – so that it is then at the right temperature to offer the baby straight away.\u003Cbr>This is obviously not what Department of Health (DOH) recommends with regards to making up a feed and the advice in the leaflet above is what we advocate.
