TASC accredited courses can then be used by students to achieve one or more of the following TASC certificates: \n• Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) \n• Tasmanian Certificate of Educational Achievement (TCEA) \n• Tasmanian Qualifications Certificate (TQC) \nThese three certificates are available to students at the end of their senior secondary study (i.e. year 12 or 13) depending on the courses they have completed. Students can choose TASC accredited courses, vocational education and training (VET), recognised formal learning or a combination of these to achieve one of the certificates 1 . More information on the courses accredited by TASC can be found on the TASC Course Page. \nUniversity Entrance \nTASC is responsible for calculating the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) each year based on students’Tertiary Entrance (TE) scores using the results from eligible courses. Eligible courses are: \n• TASC accredited Level 3 courses; \n• TASC accredited Level 4 courses; and \n• elected courses from the University of Tasmania’s High Achiever Program (HAP) and University Connections Program (UCP) . \nOther functions undertaken by TASC include to: \n• Provide advice to the Minister for Education and Training on matters relating to year 11 and 12 qualifications. \n• Guide strategic planning for years 11 and 12 qualifications management. \n• Collect and manage data on years 11 and 12, vocational education and training (VET) and higher education in Tasmania. \n• Provide system level data to Australian and state authorities as required, and in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) requirements and national protocols for higher education. \n1 Courses, TASC Website, accessed at: [https://www.tasc.tas.gov.au/students/courses/](https://www.tasc.tas.gov.au/students/courses/)","cbCaigYBr1e2aBgx","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaigYBr1e2aBgx","pdf",251517,"English","# What does TASC do?\n## Certification and TASC courses\n## University Entrance\n## Other functions","[{\"question\":\"What responsibilities does TASC have in Tasmania’s education system?\",\"answer\":\"TASC accredits courses and supports moderation and assessment for student learning in Tasmania.
