The Occupational Specialism content below relates to the Construction Support Technician apprenticeship standard. \nOccupational Specialisms ensure students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve a level of competence needed to enter employment and are organised around‘Performance Outcomes’ that indicate what the student will be able to do, as a result of learning and applying the specified knowledge and skills. \nEach Performance Outcome sets out the knowledge and skills required to meet that Performance Outcome. As a result, the same content areas may appear in more than one Performance Outcome where it would be contextualised to that Performance Outcome. \nThere are some content areas that are included in both the Core and Occupational Specialism sections; this is intentional. Where in Core, it is because it is content that is applicable to all Design, surveying and planning students, regardless of the Occupational Specialism. If the same content area is also in the Occupational Specialism, it is because the knowledge is needed to achieve the relevant Performance Outcome. In the Occupational Specialism, it is therefore likely to require different content to reflect the Performance Outcome. \nThere are always fewer skills than knowledge. Skills do not include tasks that demonstrate the application of knowledge. For example, producing a method statement or risk assessment is a task that calls on knowledge of health and safety and how a task is completed, but the skills are in organising that knowledge in a logical way and communicating that effectively through choice of language and also digital skills in presenting. \nOccupational Specialist Content \nOccupational Specialism: Construction operations \nPerformance Outcome 1: Plan for construction and built environment projects \n\n| Knowledge Specific to Performance Outcome | Skills |\n| --- | --- |\n| Health and safety (K2, K3) | Assess health and safety risks associated with a project. |\n| Key requirements of health and safety | |\n| legislation and regulations (e.g. | Assess commercial risks associated |\n| Construction (Design and Management) | with a project. |\n| Regulations 2015, Building Safety Act | |\n| 2022) and the respective duties imposed. | Assess operational risks associated with a project. |\n| Key requirements of Approved Codes of | |\n| Practice (ACoP) (e.g. Managing Health and Safety Construction) and how they are applied when planning for | Create and edit documents using digital software. |\n| construction and built environment | Apply software functions to enter, |\n| projects. | collate, analyse and display information and data. |\n| Safe systems of work including company | |\n| management systems, risk assessments, | Interpret information and data |\n| method statements and permits for work | presented in different formats. |\n| and their application to construction and | |\n| built environment projects. | Collate, organise and present data indifferent formats. |\n| Sustainability | |\n| Principles of sustainable procurement | Create secure document storage systems for a project. |\n| and the environmental social and | |\n| economic consequences of different | Summarise information and data to |\n| approaches to procurement. | meet audience needs. |\n| Key requirements of environmental | Create documents appropriate to |\n| legislations and UK and United Nations | purpose and audience. |\n| Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) | |\n| and the challenges and opportunities they | Apply appropriate vocabular, |\n| present to construction and built | grammar, form and structure to reflect |\n| environment projects e.g. carbon, net | audience, purpose and context. |\n| zero, biodiversity. | Identify discrete steps and activities |\n\n\n| Potential positive and negative e","cbCaindY3jfUMNeb","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaindY3jfUMNeb","pdf",136457,21,"English","# Occupational Specialist Content\n## Construction operations\n### Performance Outcome 1: Plan for construction and built environment projects\n## Knowledge specific to Performance Outcome 1\n## Skills for Performance Outcome 1","[{\"question\":\"How is the occupational specialist content organised and what is a Performance Outcome?\",\"answer\":\"It is organised into Occupational Specialisms mapped to apprenticeship standards, with learning structured around Performance Outcomes that define what students can do after applying specified knowledge and skills.\"},{\"question\":\"What health and safety topics are included for planning construction and built environment projects?\",\"answer\":\"The content covers assessing health and safety risks, key legislation and regulations, Approved Codes of Practice, and safe systems of work such as risk assessments, method statements, and permits for work.\"},{\"question\":\"Which skills are emphasised when planning and managing construction project information and data?\",\"answer\":\"Students are expected to create and edit documents with digital software, apply functions to enter/collate/analyse/present information and data, interpret and summarise it for audience needs, and use appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and structure.\"}]","Occupational Specialist Content - Plan for construction and built environment projects | PDF",1792473564,53]
