Establish a justification or business case for the project. \n2. Establish the project scope and boundary conditions . \n3. Outline the use cases and key requirements that will drive the design tradeoffs . \n4. Outline one or more candidate architectures . \n5. Identify risks . \n6. Prepare a preliminary project schedule and cost estimate The Lifecycle Objective Milestone marks the end of the Inception phase. \nElaboration \n• During the Elaboration phase the project team is expected to capture a healthy majority of the system requirements. \n• The primary goals of Elaboration are to address known risk factors and to establish and validate the system architecture. \n• Common processes undertaken in this phase include the creation of use case diagrams, conceptual diagrams (class diagrams with only basic notation) and package diagrams (architectural diagrams) . \n• Construction is the largest phase in the project. \n• In this phase the remainder of the system is built on the foundation laid in Elaboration. \n• System features are implemented in a series of short, time boxed iterations. Each iteration results in an executable release of the software. \n• Common UML (Unified Modelling Language) diagrams used during this phase include Activity, Sequence, Collaboration, State (Transition) and Interaction Overview diagrams. \n• Initial Operational Capability Milestone marks the end of the Construction phase. \n• The final project phase is Transition. \n• In this phase the system is deployed to the target users. \n• Feedback received from an initial release (or initial releases) may result in further refinements to be incorporated over the course of several Transition phase iterations. \n• The Transition phase also includes system conversions and user training. \n• The Product Release Milestone marks the end of the Transition phase. \n• System conception deals with the genesis of an application. \n• The intention of system conception is to recognize the big picture, that is, what requirements does the proposed system meet, can it be developed at a reasonable cost?, etc. \n• System conception is considered as a requirement analysis phase. \n• Requirements describe how system behaves from the user’s point of view. \n• True customer requirements should be separated from design decisions. \n• Solution should be deferred until a problem is fully understood. \n• Various steps involved in system conception is described below: \nSome ways to find new system concepts: \n• New functionality: add functionality to existing system \n• Streamlining: remove restriction the way system work \n• Simplification: let ordinary person perform task \n• Automation: automate manual process \n• Integration: combine functionality from different system \n• Globalisation: travel to other country & observe their cultural & business practice \nElaboration \nElaboration is the point where you want to have a better understanding of the problem: \nWho is the application for? \n• understand which person & organization are stakeholder (financial sponsors & end user) for new system \n• financial sponsors are important because they are paying for system & expect the project to be success & within budget \n• user will determine success of system \nWhat problem will it solve? \n• determine which feature will be in new system & which will not \nElaboration \nWhere it will be used? \n• determine new system is complement of e","cbCaik5ASiYnoz0l","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaik5ASiYnoz0l","pdf",282383,22,"English","# System development life cycle in UML\n## Inception\n## Elaboration\n## Construction\n## Transition\n# System conception and requirements analysis\n## Finding new system concepts\n## Key questions in Elaboration","[{\"question\":\"What are the four phases of the Unified Process in UML-based system development?\",\"answer\":\"The Unified Process divides the project into Inception, Elaboration, Construction, and Transition.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the primary goals of the Inception phase?\",\"answer\":\"Inception establishes justification and scope, outlines use cases and key requirements, proposes candidate architectures, identifies risks, and prepares a preliminary schedule and cost estimate.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the Transition phase work in the Unified Process?\",\"answer\":\"Transition deploys the system to target users, incorporates refinements based on feedback from initial releases, and includes conversions and user training, ending with the Product Release milestone.\"}]","Object Oriented Analysis & Design Using UML - Unit-4 - System Development Stages - Elaboration, Construction, Transition | PDF",1792964353,55]
