Joe Martinez Blvd. Pueblo West  \nAfter more than three years of hard work researching, planning, designing, fundraising and number crunching, the expansion of the library in Pueblo West is set to break ground.  \nJoin the Pueblo City-County Library District on this historic occasion. Construction will begin on the 23,000 sq. foot expansion of the current 5,000 sq. foot building. The project costs approximately $6.6 million.  \nAmenities of the newly expanded library will include the Pueblo West Conference Center, extensive children’s area, reading gardens, huge selection of materials, Watts  \nFoundation Business Center, Rawlings Foundation Newspapers and Periodicals Section, Vectra Bank Art Gallery , Cyber Cafe and more.  \nThe library is an officially registered Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) project, which is a rating system for green and sustainable building design and operation. The library is the first public project registered in Southern Colorado. For more information on this process, please see, Building a Green Library, on page two of this newsletter.  \nAdditionally, it’s the White Library’s tenth anniversary.
