steady when she spoke. \n“When do we have to leave?”she asked. \n\"As soon as the house is sold,\"her fatherreplied. \n\"And the spaceship is ready,\"her motheradded. \nHer brother,Leo,kept eating his breakfast.Hedidn't mind another move but then he was only asmall child. It was different for Diana. \nMrs.Fuller was an inventor whose head wasfull of creative ideas. She had invented ways to usewool as fuel, make bread from mold, and controlbad weather. \nMr.Fuller was an engineer who made Mrs.Fuller's wild plans into reality. He created themachines that did the actual work. \nNow their inventions would be used on Mars.Mr.and Mrs.Fuller were very excited. \nMr.and Mrs.Fuller were already happilymaking lists.Their pleasure made Diana bold. \nShe shouted,“You can't make me move again.I won't do it!\" \nThey stopped and looked at her as if she werea two-headed creature. \n\"That is a childish remark,\"her mother saidmildly. \n\"There will be time for good-byes,\"her fathersaid kindly. \nDiana ran blindly to her room. \nThe Mars colony was not that old.The firstcolonists had arrived ten years ago.Today about \n5,000 men, women, and children were spreadamong the three settlements. They lived undergigantic plastic domes. These protected them fromMars's cruel climate and deadly air. When theyleft the domes, they wore spacesuits with gold-tinted helmets and dual air tanks. The peoplelooked sort of odd but no one seemed to mind. \nDiana read all this and more on her hovercomputer.Mars sounded dreadful. \nMrs.Fuller knocked softly and then enteredDiana's room. \n“I know you want to stay here instead of \ngoing to Mars, but we would miss you too much,\"she said.“This will be a real adventure.Just likethe ones in your favorite video books. You maylike it.\" \nDiana hadn't thought of the move like that. \n“It will be only for a year or two at most. \nThink of all the good stories you'll have when youget back to Earth. After all,not many people havegone to Mars.\" \nThat was a pleasant thought.Diana couldsee herself holding people spellbound with herincredible tales. \n“Maybe moving to Mars wouldn't be too bad,”Diana thought. \nLeo marched into the room. \n\"What are you guys doing in here?\"hedemanded boldly. \nHis arrival ended Diana's daydream.Shesighed.She still dreaded the move, but her heartdidn't feel quite as cold and heavy. \n\"Let's find those lists. We have a lot to do if weare moving soon,\"she told her mother. \nMrs.Fuller put her arm around Diana'sshoulders as they left the room.","cbCais43WE9ENRWV","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCais43WE9ENRWV","pdf",1344462,12,"English","# Not Just Another Move\n## Diana's Concern and the Family Decision\n## Introducing Mrs. Fuller and Mr.
