In short, the Board is deeply proud of the College’s strengths today and excited about its future.  \nOur students are achieving extraordinary success in every arena. Eleven won prestigious national fellowships, including the Fulbright, last spring. F&M’s innovative new approach to launching students into life beyond College has helped our graduates win places in the most selective graduate programs, from Ph. D. programs at Columbia to the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Harvard Law, as well as top professional opportunities from Wall Street to Teach For America.  \nPublished author Kelseyleigh Reber ’ 16 just secured a contract for her second novel. F&M’s debate team cracked the top 10 nationally, and Matt Rohn ’ 16 is America’s fifth-ranked collegiate debater. Three fall athletic teams competed in the NCAA Division III tournaments, and last spring Richard Durso ’ 16 of our Division I wrestling program finished 8th at the NCAA Championships.  \nTop students from widening areas of the country and the world are hearing about the opportunities that F&M offers for a transformative liberal arts education—applications have skyrocketed beyond a record-breaking 7,000 this year. They’re attracted by our small classes, strong academic programs, opportunities for interdisciplinary work, study abroad and hands-on research with faculty.
