While Atty tends to her with cooling cloths, Yulen questions whether the meal—grilled badger—might be the cause and quickly fetches Dr. Thrasher for medical assessment. No breeze came through the open panes in the large window at the end of the room, making for fitful sleeping. \nSweaty and hot, Yulen D’Jacques kicked off the thin bedcover and rolled over, trying to find a comfortable position so he could slip back to sleep, when he sensed he was alone in the bed. Opening his eyes proved he was right. Atty wasn’t next to him. \nSitting up, he centered himself to search for her. Atty? Mistelle, a voiceless feeling answered. \nHe grabbed the pair of loose-fitting pants he always kept at the foot of the bed for whenever he was awakened in the middle of the night and slipped them on. Hurrying barefoot down the metal stairs, he went directly to their daughter ’s room. He found his wife holding Misty’s long auburn hair away from the child’s face as the young girl heaved into the bowl she held in her lap. \n“What’s wrong?” \nAtty looked up at him. “I think her stomach is protesting something she ate tonight.” \n“She had the grilled badger like the rest of us, and we’re not sick.”“That we know of,” Atty softly retorted. \nWalking up to the bed, Yulen laid a hand on his daughter ’s shoulder.“How are you feeling, Misty girl?” He noticed how Atty held a wet cloth to the girl’s forehead to help cool her. The child’s face was bright red, but it was difficult to tell if it was because of the heat or her illness. The place was stuffy. Almost unbearable. A quick check of the bedroom window showed it was closed. \n“My tubby huts,” Mistelle mumbled and promptly heaved again. This time, however, nothing came up but spittle. Atty wiped the girl’s mouth before refolding the cloth and placing it back on her forehead. \n“What if it’s not the badger?” Yulen asked.“What if it’s something else?”Not waiting ","cbCaincE6kHUtWjH","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaincE6kHUtWjH","pdf",1599200,3,299,"English","en",105,"# Contents\n## Chapter 1\n## Chapter 2\n## Chapter 3\n## Chapter 4\n## Chapter 5\n## Chapter 6\n## Chapter 7\n## Chapter 8\n## Chapter 9\n## Chapter 10\n## Chapter 11\n## Chapter 12\n## Chapter 13\n## Chapter 14\n## Chapter 15\n## Chapter 16\n## Chapter 17\n## Chapter 18\n## Chapter 19\n## Chapter 20\n## Chapter 21\n## Chapter 22\n## Chapter 23\n## Chapter 24\n## Chapter 25\n## Chapter 26\n## Chapter 27\n## Chapter 28\n## Chapter 29\n## Chapter 30\n## Chapter 31\n## Chapter 32\n## Chapter 33\n## Chapter 34\n## Chapter 35\n## Chapter 36\n## Chapter 37\n## Chapter 38\n## Chapter 39\n## Chapter 40\n## Chapter 41\n## Chapter 42\n## Chapter 43\n## About the Author","[{\"question\":\"Why does Yulen wake up and go to Mistelle’s room?\",\"answer\":\"He senses he is alone in bed and finds Mistelle ill and vomiting.
