Pleasant Avenue \nEast Hanover, New Jersey 07936 Office –(973) 887-0320 \nFax –(973) 887-9247 \nOctober 2025 \nDear Parent/Guardian: \nAs per the 2025-26 Statewide Assessment Schedule previously sent from my office, The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) is changing the current New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) and New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA) to the NJSLA-Adaptive and NJGPA-Adaptive in the spring 2026. An adaptive assessment is a computerized testing method that adjusts the difficulty of questions in real-time based on a test-taker's responses, providing a more personalized and precise measure of their knowledge or skills. As part of this transition, school districts are required to participate in a mandatory field test this fall, in addition to the standard springtime administration. \nThis NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Test will take place on November 10, 12, 13, and 14. All students in grades 9-11 are required to take the NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Test in ELA and Math, and grade 12 students are required to take the NJSLA/NJGPA in Math only. The math field test grades 9-12 will take the math they were enrolled in the 2024-2025 school year (Algebra I or Geometry or Algebra II) . Any grade 12 student who did not take Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II in the 2024-25 school year is not required to take the NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Test. Students with disabilities, and English Language Learners are required to participate in the NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Tests. \nThe New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) is conducting a field test for the adaptive NJSLA/NJGPA assessments to evaluate and refine the new test items before official use in the spring 2026, ensuring the tests are valid, reliable, and accurately measure student learning standards. This field test allows the NJDOE to collect data on how questions perform, improve scoring models, and to provide students a familiarization opportunity with the new testing format. NJDOE will not be providing results of the Field Tests to students, educators, and schools because the primary purpose is to evaluate the quality and performance of test items-not to measure student achievement. The NJSLA/NJGPA Field Test will have no impact on a student’s academic profile. \nThe district’s testing schedule is below and falls within the testing window prescribed by the New Jersey Department of Education. Testing locations will be posted in the school and additional information about testing will be provided by the principals and supervisor of counseling services as we get closer to the first day of testing. The schools will be on a regular bell schedule. \nHanover Park NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Testing Schedule \n| NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Test | Date | Class periods |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Grade 9 ELA Writing | Monday, November 10, 2025 | Periods 1, 2, 3 |\n| Grade 9 ELA Reading | Monday, November 10, 2025 | Period 7, 8 |\n| Grade 10 ELA Writing | Wednesday, November 12, 2025 | Periods 1, 2, 3 |\n| Grade 10 ELA Reading | Wednesday, November 12, 2025 | Periods 7, 8 |\n| Grade 11 ELA Writing | Thursday, November 13, 2025 | Periods 1, 2, 3 |\n\n\n| Grade 11 ELA Reading | Thursday, November 13, 2025 | Periods 7, 8 |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Grade 9 Math | Friday, November 14, 2025 | Periods 1, 2 |\n| Grade 10 Math | Friday, November 14, 2025 | Periods 3, 4 |\n| Grade 11 and 12 Math | Friday, November 14, 2025 | Periods 7, 8 |\n\nWhippany Park NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Testing Schedule \n\n| NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Test | Date | Class periods |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Grade 9 ELA Reading and Math | Monday, November 10, 2025 | Periods 1, 2, 3 |\n| Grade 10 ELA Reading and Math | Monday, November 10, 2","cbCaiuexvW14QTLl","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiuexvW14QTLl","pdf",232683,"English","# Hanover Park NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Testing Schedule\n## Whippany Park NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Testing Schedule","[{\"question\":\"What is changing from the current NJSLA and NJGPA to the new assessments?\",\"answer\":\"The New Jersey Department of Education is changing the NJSLA and NJGPA to the NJSLA-Adaptive and NJGPA-Adaptive assessments in spring 2026, using computerized adaptive testing that adjusts question difficulty in real time.\"},{\"question\":\"Which students are required to participate in the fall NJSLA/NJGPA Adaptive Field Test?\",\"answer\":\"All students in grades 9–11 are required to take the ELA and math field tests, and grade 12 students are required to take the math field test only.
