This guide... \nWritten By: Craig Lloyd \nINTRODUCTION \nThis is a prerequisite-only guide! This guide is part of another procedure and is not meant to be used alone. \n TOOLS: \nTri-point Y00 Screwdriver Bit (1) Phillips \\#00 Screwdriver (1) iFixit Opening Tool (1) \nSpudger (1) \nMicrofiber Cleaning Cloths (1) Isopropyl Alcohol (1) \nThermal Paste (1) \nTweezers (1) \nStep 1—Remove the back panel screws \nBefore beginning this repair, make sure that the device is completely turned off. \nUse a Y00 screwdriver to remove the four 6.3 mm-long screws securing the back panel. \nThroughout this repair, keep track of each screw and make sure it goes back exactly where it came from. \nStep 2—Remove the top and bottom back panel screws \nUse a JIS 00 driver or an iFixit Phillips driver to remove the following screws securing the back panel: \n Two 3.6 mm-long screws on the top of the device \n Two 3.6 mm-long screws on the bottom of the device \n To prevent these tight screws from stripping, apply firm downward force, work slowly and try a different screwdriver if the screws won't come out. \nStep 3—Release the clips securing the back panel \nInsert an opening tool into the left speaker grille on the bottom of the device. \n Twist the opening tool to release the clips securing the back panel. \n Avoid inserting the opening tool further than required to prevent damage to the speaker module. \nStep 4—Continue releasing the clips around the device \nSlide the opening tool around the bottom-left corner to release the clips on the left side of the device. \nStep 5—Twist to release the clips \nInsert an opening tool into the right speaker grille on the bottom of the device. \n Twist the opening tool to release the clips. \n Avoid inserting the opening tool further than required to prevent damage to the speaker module. \nStep 6—Slide and pry around the corners \nSlide and pry the opening tool around the bottom-right corner to release the clips on the right side of the device. \nStep 9—Remove the shield plate \nUse a JIS 00 driver or an iFixit Phillips driver to remove the four screws securing the shield plate: \n Three 3.1 mm screws \n One 4.5 mm screw \nStep 10 \nUse a spudger or your fingers to lift the shield plate up and out of the device. \n You may feel a bit of resistance. This is normal, since the shield plate is slightly bonded to the heat sink with thermal putty. \n Remove the shield plate. \n Clean off the old thermal putty from the shield plate and heat sink using isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Apply new thermal putty to the heat sink before reassembly. \nStep 11—Disconnect the interconnect cable \nBe gentle when lifting this flap—it's easy to accidentally break off. \n Use your fingernail or an opening tool to flip up the small, hinged locking flap on the motherboard interconnect cable's ZIF connector. \nStep 12 \nDon't use metal tweezers! They can short-circuit the ribbon cable/connector and damage your device. \n Use a spudger or a pair of non-conductive ( nylon or ceramic) tweezers to slide the interconnect cable out of its connector on the motherboard. \nStep 13—Disconnect the battery \nUse the point of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up and out of its socket on the motherboard. \n During reassembly, wait until after you connect the interconnect cable (above) before connecting the battery. \nStep 14—Remove the heat sink \nUse the flat end of a spudger or your fingers to carefully peel up the foam that's lightly adhered to the fan. \nThe foam only needs to be peeled back enough to clear the fan. \nStep 15 \nUse a JIS 00 driver or an iFixit Phillips driver to remove the three 3 mm screws securing the heat sink to the motherboard. \nStep 16 \nUse a spudger or your fingers to lift the heatsink up and off of the motherboard to remove it. \n You may feel a bit of resistance. This is normal, since the heat sink i","cbCaious5Cf2zDkQ","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaious5Cf2zDkQ","pdf",9570440,"English","# Introduction\n# Tools\n# Steps\n## Remove back panel screws\n## Release clips and remove shield plate\n## Disconnect interconnect cable and battery\n## Remove heat sink and clean thermal materials","[{\"question\":\"Why is this guide labeled prerequisite-only?\",\"answer\":\"It is part of another procedure and is not meant to be used alone.\"},{\"question\":\"What precautions help prevent damage while opening the device?\",\"answer\":\"Apply firm downward force to avoid stripping tight screws, release clips carefully by sliding/twisting around the device, and avoid inserting the opening tool farther than required to prevent damage to the speaker module.\"},{\"question\":\"What should be cleaned and reapplied during reassembly?\",\"answer\":\"Clean old thermal putty from the shield plate and heat sink, and remove old thermal paste from the heat sink and CPU; apply new thermal putty to the heat sink and new thermal paste to the CPU before reassembly.\"}]","Nintendo Switch Lite Motherboard Assembly - Replacement - prerequisite-only guide | PDF",1792884182,48]
