Our primary goal is to offer services that enable our seniors to live in the comfort of their own homes and community for as long and as safely as possible. \nBoard of Directors \nPresident: Randy Christensen \nVice President: Kat Manz \nSecretary: Jeanne Frank \nMembers: Mary Milleson Annie Lerwill \nShoshoni Senior Center Friends, \nWe are excited to welcome Twila to our team as the new Assistant Cook! \nThe mailed July newsletters were sent back from Casper and then required additional postage, so we apologize for that delay. I rotated the cover image and did not staple this month, which will hopefully help. *fingers crossed* We produce our newsletter ourselves and do not use the service that provides free copies by utilizing advertising revenue. So, we do ask that if you regularly receive a paper copy of our newsletter that you keep an active Dollar a Month subscription. The current Dollar a Month list will determine how many newsletters are initially printed. Additional copies will not be available until later. \nAt the board meeting, I presented graphs of data by month and fiscal year. While we have not quite reached our pre-Covid congregate meal count (5,660 total meals for FY2018-2019 versus a projected 4,933 for the current fiscal year), we are serving a larger number of congregate patrons than pre-Covid. (198 in FY19, 270 in FY23, and 241 so far this year) . Total meals and daily average have increased each year over the last three years. \nFY21-22 \nFY22-23 \nFY23-24 \n7,943 total meals \n10,189 total meals \n10,949 total meals \n25 daily average \n31 daily average \n26 daily average \nAugust is Eat Dessert First Month so if we see you eating dessert first, we’ll know you’re just celebrating August. August 5-11 is National Simplify Your Life Week. What needs cleared out of your home, mind, social life, habits, routine, or life? And, most importantly, August 21 is National Senior Citizens Day. It falls on the third Wednesday, which is such a busy day for us that I couldn’t fit it on the calendar page, but I did highlight the 21st in blue. Join us at the Senior Center so that we can give you some extra appreciation on August 21st! \nThankYou, Rykki Neale \nTHANK YOU to those who serve on the Board of Directorsand the Service District board. Having a Senior Center and its continuation and success all depend on having enough people who are capable and willing to serve their community in this way. \nRegular Board Meeting \nThursday, July 18, 2024 at 12:30pm \nJune: 1,069 total meals, 604 support services, 8 rides, and 35 AGNES registrations (18 new) . Total of 256 registered patrons as of 6/30, 88 who reside within our boundaries and 168 outside of them. The board voted to reclassify the two salaried employees as non-exempt due to Department of Labor exempt threshold changes that went into effect on July 1st. The Director has reviewed the new bylaws and returned them to the Committee. We have not received the official report yet, but the Director informed the board of the findings at the On-Site Review on 7/10, most of which has already been corrected. At the Vitalant Blood Drive on 7/11, there were 16 successful donations.
