NNCC is separately incorporated, and an independent organization that collaborates with the Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET) in test development, test administration, and test evaluation. It is the goal of NNCC to promote the highest standards of nephrology nursing practice through the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of all aspects of the certification and recertification processes. The NNCC is a charter member of the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS) . The ABNS is a membership organization that maintains a national peer review program for nursing specialty certifications.  \nCenter for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET)  \nNNCC collaborates with The Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET) whose expertise in the areas of test development, administration, and evaluation is unequaled. C-NET works with the NNCC to ensure that all of the examinations offered are reliable, valid, and meet industry standards. C-NET provides a full range of test development and test administration services, including:  \n􀁸 Performing practice analysis surveys of specialty areas  \n􀁸 Developing test specifications (blueprint)  \n􀁸 Leading item-writing sessions  \n􀁸 Pilot testing of questions  \n􀁸 Statistical analysis of whole test and test questions  \n􀁸 Reporting results of testing to Board and test committees  \nRelationship to Professional Associations  \nA professional association is an organization of members for whom educational and professional offerings and events are provided. They promote professional growth, provide approved continuing education, promote, recognize, and endorse certification, but they do not administer certification examinations. Examples of professional associations are:  \n􀁸 American Nephrology Nurses’ Association (ANNA)  \n􀁸 National Kidney Foundation (NKF)  \n􀁸 National Association of Nephrology Technicians/Technologists (NANT)  \n􀁸 American Society of Nephrology (ASN)  \nThe NNCC does not have members or provide educational programming.
