One of the most salient manifestations of this dynamism is lexical expansion through neologism. Among the various mechanisms responsible for the creation of new vocabulary, coining occupies a distinctive position, as it involves the invention of entirely new lexical forms rather than the modification of existing ones. This research investigates neologism as a process of coining in contemporary English, with the aim of understanding its linguistic characteristics, communicative functions, and sociocultural significance.\nThe study adopts a descriptive–analytical approach grounded in modern linguistic theory. It examines how coined neologisms emerge in response to new communicative needs, particularly in domains such as technology, digital media, popular culture, and social interaction. Drawing on the theoretical insights of Crystal (2003, 2011), Yule (2020), and Plag (2003), the research demonstrates that English exhibits exceptional openness to lexical innovation, enabling coined words to spread rapidly and, in some cases, become fully lexicalized. The study further explores the structural features of coined forms, including brevity, phonological simplicity, and morphological transparency, which contribute to their successful adoption by language users.\nIn addition to their formal properties, coined neologisms are analyzed in terms of communicative efficiency, where speakers seek to balance economy of expression with clarity of meaning. The research also highlights the cultural and ideological dimensions of coining, showing how newly invented words reflect societal values, identity formation, and power relations within discourse. Moreover, the study addresses the challenges posed by coined neologisms for language education and lexicography, particularly the difficulties of documentation, dictionary inclusion, and pedagogical treatment.\nThe findings of this research emphasize that coining is not a marginal or accidental phenomenon but a central mechanism through which English adapts to an ever-changing world. By examining neologism through the lens of coining, the study contributes to a deeper understanding of lexical creativity, language change, and the ongoing expansion of the English lexicon.\nIII\nTable of Contents\n\u000f\nSection One\n1 Introduction\nLanguage is a dynamic, ever-evolving system of communication that adapts to the changing demands of its users.
