It highlights natural compounds as safer, more tolerable candidates, with anti-cancer potential across multiple mechanisms. Emphasis includes modulation of oxidative-stress pathways and targeting key signaling networks to support apoptosis, suppress proliferation, and reduce metastasis. In connection with this, there is a necessity for alternative approaches characterized by increased tolerance and lower side effects. Natural compounds could be employed due to their safety profile and effectiveness for inflammatory and neoplastic skin diseases. These anti-cancer drugs are often derived from natural sources such as marine, zoonotic, and botanical origins. Natural compounds should exhibit anti-carcinogenic actions through various pathways, influencing apoptosis potentiation, cell proliferation inhibition, and metastasis suppression. This review provides an overview of natural compounds used in cancer chemotherapies, chemoprevention, and promotion of skin regeneration, including polyphenolic compounds, flavonoids, vitamins, alkaloids, terpenoids, isothiocyanates, cannabinoids, carotenoids, and ceramides. \nKeywords: natural compounds; natural agents; non-melanoma skin cancer; NMSC \n1. Introduction \nCutaneous malignancies represent the most prevalent category of cancers diagnosed worldwide, with an estimated 1.5 million new cases projected in 2020 . Within this estimate, approximately 325,000 new incidences of melanoma and 1.2 million non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSC) were reported by the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization (WHO) . The death rates reached then 64,000 and 57,000, respectively. Notably, in most regions worldwide, skin cancer manifests more frequently in men than in women, according to the WHO. \nBoth melanoma and NMSC are ","cbCaitQcZdF2KETf","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaitQcZdF2KETf","pdf",4007933,37,"English","# Introduction\n## Global burden of NMSC\n## Role of UV radiation and molecular pathways\n## Contributing risk factors\n## NMSC types and tumor biology","[{\"question\":\"Why are alternative approaches needed for non-melanoma skin cancer treatment?\",\"answer\":\"The review links the rising occurrence of NMSC and the adverse effects of available treatments to reduced quality of life, motivating approaches with better tolerance and fewer side effects.\"},{\"question\":\"How do natural compounds contribute to anti-cancer effects in NMSC?\",\"answer\":\"Natural compounds are described as exerting anti-carcinogenic actions through multiple pathways, including potentiating apoptosis, inhibiting cell proliferation, and suppressing metastasis.\"},{\"question\":\"Which signaling pathways are highlighted as disrupted by ultraviolet exposure?\",\"answer\":\"Ultraviolet effects are presented as primarily mediated by oxidative stress that disrupts pathways such as NF-κB/p65, MAPK, JAK/STAT, and Nrf2.\"}]","Natural Compounds in Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer: Prevention and Treatment | PDF",1789975727,93,{"code":4,"msg":82,"data":100},[101,105,109,113,118,123,126,131,136,139,143],{"id":22,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":102,"show_sort_weight":103,"slug":104},"Story & Novel",90,"story-novel",{"id":26,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":106,"show_sort_weight":107,"slug":108},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":33,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":110,"show_sort_weight":111,"slug":112},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":114,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":115,"show_sort_weight":116,"slug":117},5,"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":119,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":120,"show_sort_weight":121,"slug":122},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":86,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":29,"show_sort_weight":124,"slug":125},40,"healthcare",{"id":127,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":128,"show_sort_weight":129,"slug":130},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":132,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":133,"show_sort_weight":134,"slug":135},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":134,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":137,"show_sort_weight":134,"slug":138},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":140,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":141,"show_sort_weight":140,"slug":142},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":144,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":145,"show_sort_weight":114,"slug":146},19,"General","general"]
