The draft report (Report No: P19012_DetailedDesign_NGA_R1 .00, Version 1.0 dated 18/03/21) documents acknowledgements, design life assumptions for maritime structures, and key inputs for the berm top barrier concept using geosynthetic mega containers. It also outlines drainage, borrow areas, boat ramp components, governance and procurement, and includes C-ESMP and appendices with coastal protection IFC drawings and safety in design assessment.",{"@graph":14,"@context":72},[15,34,55],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/research-report/","Research We wish to express our sincere thanks to the Nanumaga Kaupule for their support and assistance. The design development benefited greatly from the valuable guidance and support of Alan Resture, Jone Feresi, Paul Audin, Puanita Ewekia and especially Dr. Arthur Webb, whose extensive knowledge of the Tuvaluan islands and their vulnerabilities gave birth to the concepts underpinning the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project . We wish to acknowledge the people of Nanumaga for their warm hospitality during our time in Tuvalu \nTable of Contents \n1. Geotextile containers were originally expected to have a service life of at least 25 years in their earlier design iterations. Improvements in geosynthetics have been reported to have design lives exceeding 40 years (Bettington, 2018) . This has been adopted as the design life of the BTB structure. \nDesign event .......................................................................................................... 3 \n2.3 Site ......................................................................................................................... 3 \n2.4 Design inputs.......................................................................................................... 7 \n3.
