All new dealers and salespeople in Ontario must take that course. It was the first course for dealers and salespeople in Canada to be mandatory.  \nThe MVDA Key Elements Course is designed for grandfathered salespeople and dealers, and for registrants who took the full certification course prior to 2010 to promote a fair and informed vehicle sales marketplace in Ontario.  \nThe MVDA Key Elements Course is divided into six (6) chapters with review questions at the end of each chapter. The questions will help you remember what you’ve read and apply what you’ve learned. You’ll find the answers in Appendix 1.  \nThere are different types of review questions, such as multiple choice, true-false and fill in the blank, as well as activities and assignments. However, the questions on the MVDA Key Elements Test are only multiple choice.  \nStudy and complete the test  \nAfter registering for the course, you have 12 weeks to learn the course material and pass the MVDA Key Elements Test. You need a minimum grade of 75 percent to pass the test.  \nYou can choose to take the MVDA Key Elements Test online or in person, but you can only take it once. The email you received when you registered for the course tells you all about taking the test.  \nIf you don’t complete the test within 12 weeks or if you don’t get the minimum passing grade, your registration in the course will end. If you want to retake the test, you will need to register for the course again and pay the full registration fees.  \nSuccessfully passing the course  \nSuccessfully passing the MVDA Key Elements Course and maintain your registration with OMVIC allows you to use the designation “C.A.L.E.– Certified in Automotive Law and Ethics.” You’ll get a certificate, letter of congratulations and an industry pin.  \nMost dealers and salespeople work hard to serve and meet the needs of customers, but some consumers still don’t understand the benefits of buying from a registered dealer.
