Because there were so many Israelites, the king became afraid they would fight against Egypt in time of war. So he made them work very hard, and he told his people to kill all the Israelite baby boys.  \nHowever, God saved baby Moses from death. Moses was even raised by the king’s daughter! Later, when Moses saw the suffering of his people, the Israelites, he tried to help them, that is he killed an Egyptian man. Because of that he had to leave Egypt and go far away to Midian in order to be safe.  \nMany years passed after Moses fled to Midian after killing an Egyptian man. During the time Moses lived in Midian, he married Zipporah and had a son named Gershom. He worked by tending his father-in-law’s sheep.  \nNow Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Sinai, the mountain of God.  \nExodus 3:1  \nThere the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought,“I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”  \nExodus 3:2-3  \nWhen the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush,“Moses!
