Each dialog simulates everyday interactions, offering natural conversational style and commonly used colloquial or idiomatic expressions. The text emphasizes listening and reading comprehension through short memorization-friendly scripts, with language notes highlighting key vocabulary and meanings. Classroom use is flexible, without a fixed difficulty order, and an audio component supports the study unit.","Dean Curry \nFOR EVERYDAY USE \nShort Situational Dialogs for Students of English as a Foreign Language \nDIALOGS FOR EVERYDAY USE \nMORE \nShort Situational Dialogs for Students of English as a Foreign \nLanguage \nDEAN CURRY \nUNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF STATE Office of English Language Programs \nMORE DIALOGS FOR EVERYDAY USE \nShort Situational Dialogs for Students of English as a Foreign Language Dean Curry \nFirst published in 1983 \nSecond printing 1997 \nby the English Language Programs Division of the United States Information Agency, Washington, DC. \nThis printing published in 2004 \nby the Office of English Language Programs of the United States Department of State. \nUnited States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Office of English Language Programs Washington, DC 20547 \n[http://exchanges.state.gov/education/engteaching/](http://exchanges.state.gov/education/engteaching/) \nCONTENTS \nDialog 1 Greetings ............................... 1 \nDialog 2 Early in the Morning ...................... 2 \nDialog 3 Daily Needs ............................. 3 \nDialog 4 Airport Bus ............................. 4 \nDialog 5 Making a Date ........................... 5 \nDialog 6 Catching a Bus .......................... 6 \nDialog 7 Ordering Breakfast ....................... 7 \nDialog 8 Near Accident ........................... 8 \nDialog 9 Arrival Time ............................. 9 \nDialog 10 After the Game ......................... 10 \nDialog 11 Going for a Walk ........................ 11 \nDialog 12 What’s for Dinner? ....................... 12 \nDialog 13 Academy Awards ....................... 13 \nDialog 14 At the Hotel ............................ 14 \nDialog 15 After the Movie ......................... 15 \nDialog 16 At the Bank ............................ 16 \nDialog 17 Discussing a News Story ................. 17 \nDialog 18 Talking It Over .......................... 18 \nDialog 19 Weekend Plans ......................... 19 \nDialog 20 Dinner Invitation ........................ 20 \nDialog 21 Car Insurance .......................... 21 \nDialog 22 Parents’ Night Out ...................... 22 \nDialog 23 Discussing the Economy ................. 23 \nDialog 24 Dental Appointment (by phone) ........... 24 \nDialog 25 Making Plans ........................... 25 \nDialog 26 Neighborhood Problem .................. 26 \nDialog 27 Car Theft .............................. 27 \nDialog 28 Getting Ready .......................... 28 \nDialog 29 Making a Purchase ..................... 29 \nDialog 30 Mail Time .............................. 30 \nDialog 31 Bedtime ............................... 31 \nDialog 32 Getting Something Fixed ................. 32 \nDialog 33 Family Plans ........................... 33 \nDialog 34 Planning a Business Trip ................. 34 \nDialog 35 A Short Discussion ...................... 35 \nDialog 36 Family Squabble ........................ 36 \nFOREWORD \nhe 36 dialogs in More Dialogs for Everyday Use are situation based; they present spoken American English in a naturalness of style that will help students of English as a Foreign Language gain practice in hearing and understanding the stream of speech. There is no established order of difficulty in the arrangement of the dialogs within the text, and teachers are encouraged to use them as needed to supplement the more normal type of classroom learning activities. \nThe Language Notes concentrate upon words and expressions that are either colloquial or idiomatic in nature. The dialogs themselves are kept short so that if teachers feel that memorization of the dialogscan be a part of the pedagogy of presentation, students will not have to face a seemingly insurmountable task of memorizing long passages. Memorization is encouraged since it often helps to develop both listening and reading comprehension. \nAn audiocassette is available with this booklet and is a necessary component of the audio study unit. \nDIALOG 1","cbCaio5KeMihYESi","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaio5KeMihYESi","pdf",1626272,2,1,44,"English","en",105,"# Dialogs for Everyday Use\n## Dialog 1 Greetings\n## Dialog 2 Early in the
