I am grateful to each and everyone of you for giving my work a chance.  \nWithin these pages you will indeed find monsters, ghosts and devils. Iam kicking off this selection with Strange Geometry, which is a personal favourite of mine. Of all the books I have written, this is the one that I loved writing the most. It is not as extreme as some of my other stories (Djinn, Flesh Factory and Splatterpunks, for e.g, are some of my more disgusting offerings that immediately spring to mind.)  \nStrange Geometry is a lot more subtle. Well, subtle for me – I concede that these things are relative. There is still blood, perversion, and innards going outwards…  \nIt is the story, however, that takes front and centre stage with Strange Geometry, rather than the blood and guts. A lot of research went into it. Infact, I can honestly say that I have never put so much time, effort and research into a novella before. I spent many hours boning up on complex theories in physics, as well as mathematical and scientific concepts that are far outside my field of expertise. (My field is admittedly very small, but whatever, moving on.)  \nYes, that’s right, I took the one thing that I am most scared of in the whole world and turned it into a horror story: Mathematics.  \nMaths bloody terrifies me. I’ll be honest with you, I flunked GCSE Maths twice and I still break out in a cold sweat when I’m counting and I run out of fingers and toes.  \nMaths is “other” to me. It is as alien as it gets, and Strange Geometry is a story born of my utter, genuine terror of the subject. Maths is a form of poetry, but perhaps a dispassionate form of poetry. It is arguably coldblooded in its detachment, in its calculated heartlessness. Maths has no emotion, no conscience, it just is.  \nAs Pythagoras so eloquently said; “There is geometry in the humming of the springs, there is music in the spacing of the spheres.”  \nAnd let’s not forget Galileo Galilei: “To understand the universe, you must understand the language in which it’s written, the language of Mathematics  ”  \nStrange Geometry is about understanding it all a bit too much. Seeing too much.
