The sun was high in the azure sky, covered by the occasional passing cloud. The passing clouds brought a slow, pleasant breeze with them. The temperature was warm, but not so warm that you had to try to find some shade to hide in.  \nI looked to my left and saw a vacant, sandy white beach stretching for miles. I could also look down to my right and see the same scene repeat itself. Behind us, there were no high-rise resorts or hotels. Just a line of lush, thick trees.  \nWe had total privacy.  \nWe sat in two comfortable beach chairs that sat beside each other. Behind us lay a blanket with remnants of a picnic lunch. The chairs were close enough to the water where the tide lapped against our feet ending their long journey that started far out into the ocean.  \nI could not have asked to have a better companion to be sitting alongside of me. Elizabeth looked stunning in her two-piece black swimsuit with a flowery blue sarong flowing over a pair of well-tanned legs. She had her blonde hair tied back with a few loose strands of hair fluttering back and forth across her face.  \nThe banter between us easy with varied topics moving from school to our past to our future to things as mundane as a debate on what type of icecream that we liked best. Laughter abounded.  \nI don’t think I have ever been as happy in my entire life. Her smile put mein heaven.  \nThen, in the silkiest voice that she had, she said,“Lucas, wake up, time for school.”  \nWhat?  \n“Lucas, wake up!” I heard through the obscurity. This time, the voice was not very silky or smooth.  \nIn an instant, I was plunged back into the real world. I rolled over, away from the voice of my mom, and shut my eyes together tighter hoping that I could stay on that beach. Then, she ripped the sheet away revealing me in nothing but a pair of boxers. How embarrassing.  \n“I said, get up!
