Directors appreciated the focus of the CPF High-Level Outcomes and welcomed the CPF’s capacity building and digitalization lens aimed at strengthening systems and institutions across government and private sector actors.  \nWhile noting the progress achieved during the previous CPF, Directors expressed concerns about the negative impact that the global and regional spillovers from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could have on Moldova’s short- and long-term reform pace, stressing the importance of protecting vulnerable households and refugees from the impact of rising food and energy prices. Directors welcomed the scaling up of WBG support to Moldova at this time of crisis, including efforts to mobilize partner resources as part of the broader international support to the country.  \nDirectors encouraged the WBG to incorporate the lessons learned from designing and implementing the last CPF. They underlined the need to support the country to change its growth paradigm towards more private sector and export-driven growth. They stressed the need to maintain momentum in key reform areas with a focus on improving competitiveness in Moldova, particularly in the context of lower fiscal resources and heightened external risks. They looked forward to the completion of the CCDR, which will inform and be integrated into the CPF Performance and Learning Review. They also stressed the need for more efforts to address gender issues in a more integrated manner.  \nDirectors encouraged Moldova to accelerate the reforms and urged the authorities to take all the necessary steps to advance a sustainable energy efficiency agenda while promoting adaptation to climate change. Directors emphasized the need for continued WBG engagement to strengthen governance, institutional capacity, transparency, and citizen participation to increase accountability and public sector performance.  \nDirectors commended the One WBG approach described by the CPF and encouraged IFC and MIGA to seek opportunities to enhance the country’s productivity, reinforce SME support, and foster the creation of more and better private sector jobs.
