All units are available in the June and November exam series. We strongly advise that Units 1 and 2 are sat in this order for first entry of the units and resits can be sat in any order. \nForbidden combinations \nEntering for different tiers across both units is not permitted in this qualification. Both units must be either at Foundation Tier or Higher Tier-no mixing of tiers. \nEntering for the modular and linear assessment route in the same exam series is not permitted in this qualification. \nEntries \nThe details of how to enter learners for the examinations for this qualification can be found in our International Information Manual on our website. \nKey points \nUnits can be assessed in any exam series: \nThere are no restrictions on learners taking units together and they can be taken in any International GCSE exam series. \nNo time limits to the qualification: \nLearners can take and re-sit individual unit assessments in any series. \nLearners 'cash in' unit results when ready: \nOnce a learner has all their unit results for the qualification they are taking, they 'swap'those for a grade – this is called 'cashing-in' . To cash-in, all units must have been entered. \nWhat are 'raw marks' and 'UMS marks'? \nThe raw mark is the number of marks a learner achieved on an exam. \nThe UMS mark (Uniform Mark Scale) is a conversion of the raw mark. \nAs this is a modular qualification, units can be taken in different exam series. To ensure that any differences in the difficulty of exams are taken into account when adding up a learner’s marks to give an overall qualification grade, we convert the ‘raw’ or exam paper mark into a UMS mark, which is the final mark. \nUnit results \nThis shows the total UMS for each unit and the associated grade boundaries. Learners will receive a uniform mark between 0 and the maximum uniform mark for each unit. \nQualification results \nThis shows the total UMS for the qualification as a whole and the associated grade boundaries. The minimum uniform marks required for each grade are: \nLearners with a uniform mark in the range 0-23 will be Unclassified. \nResitting of units \nLearners can resit any unit irrespective of whether the qualification is to be cashed in. If a \nlearner resits a unit more than once, only the better of the two most recent attempts of that unit will be available for aggregation to a qualification grade. \nResults of units will be held in our unit bank for as many years as this specification remains available. Once the International GCSE in Mathematics (Specification A) (Modular) has been certificated, all unit results are deemed to be used up at that level. These results cannot be used again towards a further award of the same qualification at the same level. \n‘Cashing-in’ or aggregation \nCash-in is requesting a qualification grade after the completion of all required units in a subject. Individual unit results are added together to get the overall subject grade. For example: \n- For this qualification learners must sit all 2 units at Foundation Tier to cash-in for a qualification grade or \n- For this qualification learners must sit all 2 units at Higher Tier to cash-in for a qualification grade. \nCashing-in’ or aggregation is the indication to Pearson Edexcel that the learner wishes to c","cbCaihiOxs7qwDe2","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihiOxs7qwDe2","pdf",217086,"English","# Introduction\n## Tiering\n## Forbidden combinations\n## Entries and key points\n## Raw marks and UMS marks\n## Unit and qualification results\n## Resitting of units\n## Cashing-in or aggregation\n## Codes","[{\"question\":\"When do first teaching, first assessment, first cash-in, and first certification take place?\",\"answer\":\"First teaching is from September 2024, first assessment from June 2025, first cash-in in June 2025, and first certification from August 2025.\"},{\"question\":\"What tiering rules apply across Units 1 and 2?\",\"answer\":\"Foundation and Higher Tier are both available, but both units must be entered at the same tier; mixing tiers across units is not permitted.\"},{\"question\":\"How does cash-in (aggregation) and UMS marking work?\",\"answer\":\"After all required unit results are entered, individual unit results are added to produce the overall qualification grade.
