Instead of making a sharp left turn, drivers veer to the left for access. These interchanges improve traffic safety and mobility and cut overall traffic delays up to 60 percent.  \nSafety benefits of diverging diamond interchanges include:  \n• Fewer conflict points.  \n• Conflict points are spread out throughout the interchange.  \n• Better sight distance at turns.  \n• Wrong way entry to ramps is extremely difficult.  \n• Pedestrian crossings are shorter.  \nNavigating a Diverging Diamond Interchange  \nTraffic crisscrosses at either end of the bridge, so instead of making hard left turns, drivers veer to the left for access. Pedestrians cross to the middle of the bridge and walk in the middle between traffic lanes with protective barriers on either side.  \nMinnesota Driver’s Manual  \nNew Laws and Information, continued.  \nSchool Bus Flagger (M.S. 169.06)  \nA school bus flagger is a person who may stop and hold vehicles on a street or highway to allow school buses to leave school property. A driver may not proceed after being stopped by a school bus flagger until directed to do so by the flagger or a police officer. (See page 39.)  \nAutocycle (M.S. 169.011)  \nAn autocycle is a motorcycle that:  \n• has three wheels in contact with the ground;  \n• is designed with seating that does not require operators or any occupants to straddle or sit astride it;  \n• has a steering wheel;  \n• is equipped with anti-lock brakes; and  \n• is originally manufactured to meet federal motor vehicle safety standards for motorcycles in Code of Federal Regulations, title 49, part 571, and successor requirements.  \nA person may operate an autocycle with a valid driver’s license. A motorcycle endorsement or a three-wheel motorcycle restriction is not required.  \nPersons riding within an enclosed cab autocycle are exempt from wearing protective headgear and eye-protective device.
