WOOD'S HOUSE-MAN-CAVE-NIGHT  \nA small, finished back porch is filled with worn antique furniture and hunting trophies.  \nWOOD (26), bushy red beard, long red hair, watches a flat screen television. CLAY (26), overly slim with thin black hair, watches it with him. On screen an investigative program seeks the truth about Sasquatch .  \nWood asks Clay a question in his thick Appalachian accent.  \nWOOD  \nDoin' anything tomorrow? Clay replies in the same accent.  \nCLAY  \nFishin' . Why?  \nWOOD  \nMongo wants me to video him wearin' a  \ncostume in the woods. I don't like  \nbeing alone around him. He creeps me  \nout.  \nCLAY  \nWhat's the costume?  \nWOOD  \nHe calls it the Mingo County Monster .  \nIt's supposed to be something like a  \nBigfoot . . . Hopin' to start a new  \nlocal legend and make money off it.  \nHe reckons if he posts the hoax on the Internet, he can do interviews, guided tours, sell souvenirs, you know, stuff like that. Says he'll  \nsplit the money with me if I keep my  \nmouth shut.  \nCLAY  \nOkay, I'm in. What time?  \nEXT . MONGO'S HOUSE-FRONT DOOR-NIGHT  \nWood and Clay exit from Wood's pickup truck in front of a small one-story house. The lawn is littered with an assortment of discarded appliances and Mongo's pickup truck.  \n2.  \nWood approaches and knocks on the front door.  \nAfter a short pause, the door opens .  \nMONGO (22), steps out. He is almost seven feet tall and is easily over three hundred pounds. He is dressed in a hairy costume made from a faux fur bedspread, cradles the head piece in his arm .  \nMONGO  \n(whispering)  \nShhh . Maw's asleep. Let's go .  \nMongo notices Clay .  \nMONGO (cont'd)  \nWhat's he doing here?  \nWOOD  \nI thought you'd like a second camera,  \nhelp you get a better shot.  \nMONGO  \nFine . He splits your share.  \nWood sniffs, recoils and closes his eyes tightly. Clay soon does the same .  \nWOOD  \nWhat in the world is that smell? Is  \nthat coming from the costume?  \nMONGO  \nYeah . Big foots are supposed to smell  \nbad and scary . I want it to be part of the legend. I'm hoping to scare some hikers, ya know, maybe chase  \nsome hot babes.  \nWOOD  \nYou smell like a cheap hooker who  \nlives in a barn an' eats nuthin' but  \nramps! How did you do that?  \nMONGO  \nI put some perfume on the costume I  \ngot from Dill . He makes it from real  \nanimal glands from stuff he finds on  \nthe road.  \nWOOD  \nHow much of this perfume did you use?  \n3.  \nMongo reaches into his pickup truck and pulls out an empty two-liter soda bottle. \"DILLS PRRRFUME\" is hand written with a sharpie on a postage label.  \nMONGO  \n'bout this much.  \nWOOD  \n(cringes, wipes eyes ) Mission accomplished. You smell  \nstrong, foul and scary .  \nEXT . ABANDONED COAL CAMP-DAY  \nThe low fog and morning dusk accompany the quiet.  \nA small river rushes alongside a remote meadow of tall grass, surrounded by a thick forest.  \nMongo's pickup truck arrives from a dirt road and stops. Wood's truck follows and parks close behind. The three disembark from their vehicles.  \nMongo places the headpiece over his head, smooths it out.  \nMONGO  \nHow do I look?  \nWOOD  \nLike you should avoid huntin' season .  \nMONGO  \nThe lighting's perfect. Let's do it. Wood and Clay pull out their phones.  \nWOOD  \nWe'll start recordin' when you're  \nabout fifty yards out or so .  \nMongo begins his march.  \nWOOD (cont'd)  \nKeep going. Look like you're  \nsearchin' fer somethin', like food.  \nSuddenly a large HUMANOID/PRIMATE HYBRID sprints from the woods.
